This is a game I played two days ago against -Netput, most of you probably don't know him but he is a very good and somewhat prominent player. It was a very good game and a good demonstration on how to counter Pitbulls as well as the power of Nod when used with proper unit mixing. Of note is the use of EMP Buggys, Flame Tanks, and Vertigos, as well as an early 3 ST rush, and a backbone army of Scorpians (support by rocket pre-mortors). This game was promoted to Silver on GR.org and is a nominee for Replay of the Week and Gold, so its definately a game that you should all watch.

/me hastily scribbles down the BOs.

I can't imagine a more effective strategy against a GDI. With your aggressive start and boomed economy outlasting his, he never could convey much destruction. You were constantly smashing through his economy with Support Powers and vertigoes while equaling and eventually defeating his high-tech army in the field.

Excellent match.

Thats not even the complete BO, it was interrupted by his early missiles so I didn't finish it the way I normally would. Had he not gotten that missile squad in the bunker, I would have placed a ref on the blue before selling my explorer, giving me a refinery on every field. Since this was interrupted however, I did a more impromptu build to destroy his bunker and then stretch back to the blue.

Really nice to watch, i really liked the early shadow-teams raiding his base;)

Those stealthed flame tanks is a tactic i use quite alot to, it really funny to see how a opponent can panic when 2 flame tanks attack his precious CY.

But i have a question!:tantrum:
-How do you make units go backwards? Is there really any advantage to this? (Its proberally a reallly simple awnser:freek:)

Edit : I want a herioc harverster!!

Don't worry- knowing you Yuri, you'll adapt quickly, cause a lot of the skills used in ZH sorta carry on!;)

(Not sure how well you'll fare against the Brutal though - I've only won against one on about three occasions total, and those were because I had teammates or a massive edge!)

EDIT: Hey Derek, have you managed to figure out the Brutals yet? If so, what's your trick???:wired:

Brutal? Why bother. It cheats.

I beat a brutal once, but I can't figure head or toe of it now, it was this one map with the building in the middle where u destroy it it will leave the top of the building out of the ground.
One way to help urself beat brutal is to fight the map Unfair Advantage with ur at the top... Probably won't weigh out the advantage that it has over u unless u play ur tib right...

The way I beat a Brutal without a handicap was either by having a comp teammate take the fall while I crippled it in urban combat (it was Scrin Balanced), and the other time was pure luck on Small Town USA.

That is no fun, using the comp sacrifice makes it madder at u, and I don't understand handicap, does it make u better or worse? I don't care really, but if u can use some fun moves on a brutal comp I think it means ur not gonna win, cuz there be no way to use my abilities unless I crush his harvies fast, and somehow be able to protect my base from his onslaught that I went around to kill the harvies come back at me and rolls over my tiny foxholes and crushes the many privates inside

I am at work so I am unable to veiw the replay but I will when I get home..I have seen several of "Dr. Pitbulls" replays and he always won when going against NOD or GDI but got pwned against Scrin. He mostly plays the Tourney Arena map and uses the same tactics and BO in at the start. Kinda hard to stop given the size of the map. All you can do is counter if you know its coming.
I would like to see how he fares on a smaller map.

Watched the match. alot of good micro..one question..why did you wait so long to destroy his con yard? Reason I ask is because you had several oppurtunities to do so which would have crippled him severely at any stage of the match. I like the way you finally pwned all those pitbulls. guess he will be studying that replay for awhile now...and repeating to himself.. I can't believe I lost... how did he do it??.

GG WP ;)

The pitbulls would've thrashed his scorps if he had done so (you do realise that Conyards have a crapload of health, right)?, and even if he did manage to take it down, there would still be the Crane and War Factory to deal with.

Juju is not a n00b, he was actually one of the best USA players in ZH. But he is entirely wrong in his analysis of the replay. Kuntz basically said everything that needed to be said in the second post though.

There is fair criticism of the replay, my Scorpian micro was not the best in the world, and Netput built pitbulls for too long. But the GR.org staff determined that despite these mistakes it was worthy of being a Gold replay.
