I had to work this weekend, so running a tad late with updating the site, but business off the net has to come first. Anyhoot, on Monday my home state of Pennsylvania will shut down if the state congress and Governor Ed Rendell can't come to an agreement with the state budget. Right now things aren't looking good. Peeps in my neck of da woods are a tad upset cause the local state parks will have to close, and businesses in the area rely on the traffic those parks generate. Car registrations and licenses won't be process either, and I just sent in my form to get my license to drive renewed. If the shutdown goes too long, I may have to drive illegal. Gov Rendell is a Democrat, and the PA congress is controlled by Republicans, so I'm not surprised we have a problem. Oh well, the US Congress can't get anything done either cause the President is Republican and the US Congress is controlled by the Democrats. Both the US Senate and House of Reps have a 20% approval rating from the people of the United States. That's the lowest rating in US history. What's amazing is the fact it's lower that the rating President Bush has. The next President of the USA sure has a lot of mending to do. Whatever that job pays, it ain't enough.

That sucks Lion ;/ Be nice if we can get past the BS but heh..... like that'd really happen. It'd be a major blow if it PA shuts down. It'd be nice if we can all just... GET ALONG... ;/

Minnesota has the same problem, Governor Tim Pawlenty is a Republican, while the majority of the state legislature is Democrats.

Pawlenty, was using his veto powers on almost everything, and nothing was getting done. Outside MN, some Republicans were applauding the fact he wasn't caving in to the Dems, but people here in Minnesota were pissed he wasn't signing anything. Many Minnesotans didn't understand the party politics and didn't seem to care he was voting against Democratic legislation and policies, they felt he should have passed it anyways. Pawlenty was stuck, either veto everything and get ridiculed, or cave in and pass the Democrats legislation. Thankfully though, they did manage to pass some watered bills in order to avoid a government shut down.

Unfortunately this has become the case in the last twenty years or so. Each party wants to push there own agenda no matter what. So it is unfortunate that the people suffer because of party politics. However, the bright side is the State government will most likely shut down bringing a net tax savings to the people of that state. This happened a few years ago in California. When it was all said and done, they all agreed to just borrow even more money to cover the ever expanding government control of our lives. Aargh! It is so frustrating!

Does this mean that if LION gets popped for driving with an expired license that he will be doing time like Paris did? Will he be freed because of some mysterious illness? Will he get an interview and visit from Barbara Walters? Or Larry King? :tantrum: What will happen to the DEN if the LION is in there for a month? What about den arrest? This is nuts! Can't these politicians do anything right?

I'm sure MooMan can take care of the DEN while Lion's cats storm the jail to bust him out.:D

As for politicians doing something right, if they did they wouldn't be a politician. As defined by http://wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn?s=politician A politician is "a schemer who tries to gain advantage in an organization in sly or underhanded ways"

Just wondering, Lion: Didn't anything else happen this weekend?
An open letter to Hack creators and such?
Why aren't there any news about it on the Den?
