Well after multiples hours of trying I give up! I just can't seem to get any of the world builder crap to work right. I was wondering if anyone could make me a map where It is a huge vertical map where there is tons of trains that go back and forth across the level and you start on one end and you have maybe like 5 infantry units or something like that and you have to get at least 1 to the other side of the map. I want it to be a big challenge, but not so hard it's impossible. I had a ton of trouble on the scripting for ending the mission when anything got to the other side so I gave up! So yeah if anyone could make me a map like this or at least tell me where I could find a map similar to this it would be greatly appreciated!

Well, you can make the map yourself, But I'll make the scripts. I've allready done so, you can download them below & extract them from the ZIP folder. Open up the scripts in your map. In the script menu, just click on "Import" & select the script file you just dowloaded. The scipts will be placed in the "PlyrCivilian" folder. Open up the first script & select whick units you want to try to cross the tracks. in the condition. Also, study these scripts, mabey it'll give you a better idea about how to make these. Now go to your map & create an area called "Victory Area". That should do it.

Thanks for the script! Now my only other problem is the the trains! Any scripts to modify their speeds? or multiple train scripts at different speeds?

As far as I know, there isn't any script to regulate the speeds for any unit. But you can do it through INI files, but they'll stay at that speed throughout the whole game. How much do you know about INI files. If you don't know anything at all, I'd reccamend you take Thomasalans INI tut at cncmaps.com http://www.cncmaps.com/mapmakingvideo.html But I'll give you a brief overveiw of what INI files are first. I'll be happy to create an INI file for this purpose in the mean time. The worldbuilder has about 3 or 4 trains, so you can have 3 or 4 different speeds. If you do know about INI files, then use the Locomotor.ini to adjust their speeds.

So let me know if you want a brief explanation about them & the INI file.

I know how to edit INI files! I learned a few years ago from messing around with them. 3 or 4 speeds should do hopefully. I know I'll find someway to totally screw up the map though. lol! I tell ya if I ever finish it!

Or you can just download the train ini file from cncden.

Well, that INI file is just to make train garrisonable. Not to regulate the speeds.

Actually.....
Object TrainEngineVerySlow

ReplaceModule ModuleTag_03
Behavior = RailroadBehavior ModuleTag_03_Override
PathPrefixName = Railroad

RunningGarrisonSpeedMax = 8
KillSpeedMin = 9
Friction = 0.995
BigMetalBounceSound = BuildingFallingMetal
SmallMetalBounceSound = VehicleImpactHeavy
MeatyBounceSound = InfantryCrush
ClicketyClackSound = TrainClicketyClack
WhistleSound = TrainWhistle

IsLocomotive = Yes
SpeedMax = 8.0
Acceleration = 1.005
WaitAtStationTime = 20000 ; twenty seconds
Braking = 0.97
CrashFXTemplateName = SpecialEffectsTrainCrashObject

CarriageTemplateName = TrainCar03
CarriageTemplateName = TrainCar03
CarriageTemplateName = TrainCar03
CarriageTemplateName = TrainCab
End
End
End

...It has everything you would ever need to edit the speed of the train. Just be sure to use TrainEngineVerySlow.

Your welcome.

Dosn't matter! I gave up! The world creator gives me errors if it is running for more than 10 minutes!

my world builder wont even load, every time i attempt to open the bloody thing, it keeps saying there is a file missing.

I wanted to make me a map, 2v2v2v2, massive area with 5 huge islands, 4 in each corner and one in the middle and each corner has 2 command centres for the air force general, and the boss general in the middle, and the islands are connected by bridges that go to the central island. If i made what i want the map to look like in paint and post it on here, can someone make it for me? I wont count it as my own, just my design. I would be very grateful:)

if you do finish it, pease e-mail it to me at selly.jr@hotmail.co.uk ta!

i want it for skirmish and online play (AI can play it)

It's not best to bump up old topics, Selly Jr. You should just create a new one.

Never the less, about your problem, Maybe there is a file missing. Try uninstalling Zero Hour & Generals, delete both of the game directories, & reinstall. Let me know if that works.

About your reqest. I usually don't take map requests & I don't think anyone else on this forum will either. (I'm really the only one who answers members here.) You could try a few other forum sitea, two of which are here:
http://www.cncgeneralsworld.com/forums/default.asp
http://cncmaps.net/index.php?act=idx

If you still come here, xxrpggamemanxx, the problem might be that you map is to big. You said it was "huge". Try keeping the x & y dementions below 400ft.
