Where do I keep going wrong here!?

I have a replay that showcases a pretty nasty loss that I suffered on one of the custom-made maps out there (Tournament base, to be exact.) I'd appreciate any comments or advice.

To be frank, I have no damn clue as to where I went wrong here in this skirmish. I've tried all kinds of tactics to beat back the comp or at least secure some turf outside my area, but all of them seem to eventually fail against the comp's crazy micro abilities and/or damned Orca spam. Sure, maybe my own micro could've been better, or maybe I could've taken a more offensive approach, but believe me, any offensive or rush I've attempted against the comp ends up either getting torn up by grenadiers or somehow or another smoked when I'm being distracted by all those freaking orcas.
BTW, this is actually the longest I've lasted against the AI before my computer crashed (yeah, my comp kinda crashed there at the end due to a power fluctuation. Good thing the game managed to save it:)). There's a ton of other skirmishes on the same map with the same AI and all, but the pretty much end the same with me losing badly.


(P.S. I know, I know, it's a skirmish match against a comp, but I really do want to get some advice for what to do here in order to win... you see, this match kinda epitomizes what I've been weak at in C&C3, so that's why I want your comments so as to help me hone my skills.)

Could you tell me which force you choose? are you facing a GDI brutal balanced? How many tiberian fields are there in the map? I defeated that brutal of every kind many times, maybe I could give you some helpful tips to win...:)

I was going against a hard guerilla GDI on the map "C&C3 Tournament Base." I'll try to fix the link.

The guerilla is the AI type what I hate most, fortunately it is not brutal...

When I try to watch your replay, the game told me: Once a patch has been applied, loading a replay from a previous version will not work.:(

You can still watch a replay from a previous version of the game: you just need to go to the start-up screen (not the one after the EA logo and all, the one where you get the options to upload patches, watch replays, or see a couple of LOTR previews), and then simply select the replay you want to watch. This works for most versions of the game.

I know exactly y it won't play, u saved it as a bleep rar file~!!!!
Try again if u haven't erased it... Or make a new one... rar files or like zip files but are hard to uncase... I don't think a doc, bmp, jpeg, jpg, rar, or zip file will help u, plz make it under a different one, for the replays sake...

Why, you don't have winrar? It's actually supposed to be one of the better compression systems, you know!

But just in case, I'll put up an uncompressed version of it for download, maybe that will work out.

EDIT: I tried, but it won't load up in it's normal state of being an untouched file. Damn...

Are you sure that you tried to view the replay through the CD's startup screen instead of the game itself? I'm pretty sure that it's supposed to be capable of playing any version!

It won't show up because it isn't a proper cnc replay... as long as it is a rar file when we download it, it will not show up in the cnc replay files... not anywhere...

last time I messed with winrar I kept getting mkv files, downloaded a video watcher for that, soon later, mass virus in the comp...

well, Let's give you some tips without seeing that replay, I can kill two computers at brutal steamroller difficulty at a time. I used gdi and built lots of sonic emitter to defend those numnerous enemies, though gdi anti-air defence tower is rather weak, I trained many missile squard instead, after firing your first ion cannon, you can draw all you forces to their base.(You will keep your forces back before, use your defensive building to defend is quite enough, obviously, two cranes and at least 8 havestors needed)

Huh? Was I called? I've kind of been ignoring this thread since it dealth with a Brutal AI. Brutal AIs cheat, therefore strats that work against real people will not work against Brutals.

Again, you can watch replays from an older version. Just save the replay somewhere and then double click on the file. CNC3 will autorun with the appropriate version.

I don't have the map though so it caused my game to spaz out. I had to kill it from the control panel. Post a link to the map and I might try again later.

It's called Tournament base, and it was made by Silik, one of the guys at the German CNC fansite CNCHQ.DE. However, you can get here on the DEN, since it's in the featured maps section.
