Every now and then I check out what’s playing on RA2. I estimate about 1 in 3survival maps are copies of my maps BuildtimeX or the Lunatic moon remake.

Someone told that prick map4u how to unlock my maps and now I see my latest maps with minor changes and his name. Sometimes he moves waypoints but mostly he just adds rocks or crapy cliffs to force the AI into bottlenecks.

Next time you see one of his maps look at the triggers, if you know my work you will see if it's mine.

The last map he stole was Matrix. I used a program to make it and no way does he have a clue how to edit the main triggers, however he did find the text trigger with my name on it.

I really don't mind if someone wants to remake one of my maps but it must improve something not noob it all to hell.

I have to agree with him about learning though, though I didn't steal your maps flyingZ, I have opened a few of them and learned quite a bit about triggers! :) Especially from your Multiplayer campaign mission, I forget what it's called exactly, something about beating yuri and the soviets...starting with just a seal Guards and an engi for both players. Then some Nukes appear later on. It was fun, played it multiple times. But I learned from that map how to work triggers. :)

First, he is not slinging insults at you, and the only reason you got any recognition is because people never realised that all of "your" maps were actually his.

Its not about pride, its about not wanting your work, that you have so carefully made and designed, stolen by noobs like you who arent willing to put the effort in to make a decent map, so you steal his maps, put a bunch of useless noobie crap on them and plaster your name on it.

The only reason you are trying to have him "give everything away" is because you want to steal it.

Yes, we are all all capable of producing a fine peice of work. The prime difference is the people who are willing to put the time and effort into it and the people that aren't.

I gotta say.... I agree with Stat, you just ripped off Westwood. But if you just ripped of Westwood, you obviuosly ripped of FlyingZ too, because he modified the files first, and than you changed them. Lets spell this out a bit more clearly, you took FlyingZ's work and created a derivative work without his permission. Though not stealing (that deals with actual property), you have infinged his copyright which could (in theory) lead you to be liable for substantial fines if it went to court. It seems to me that you are not, in fact, making maps. What you are doing is modding maps that other people made. If you labeled the maps as being based on FlyingZ's map of such and such a name and didn't strip out all his identifying stuff and/or it was a few decades after FlyingZ made the maps I'd have less of a problem with what you are doing. There is a difference in the level of new content you are creating between 1. Taking his map, putting down a few new tiles and moving waypoints and 2. Looking at his map and creating a new but similar one from scratch.
Strike Team are not an authority on copyright issues and though I'm not a lawyer with great indepth knowledge, if they advised you you did nothing wrong, they know less than I do. I may not nessesarily agree with copyright law as it stands in many countries, but I do understand the concept of derivative works, which you clearly do not.
You are of course probably right that you will go on "making" maps until you get bored as there is little we can/will do to stop you but you will get nothing but scorn from anyone who understand what you have done in the editing community.

Taking a person's maps, opening it up in FA2, adding noobtastic qualities to it does not make you a person worthy of even the lowliest respect. In the time it probably takes you to modify FlyingZ's kickass maps, just about anyone here with FA2 and even mediocre skill could make a survival map that runs circles around the sub-standard thievery you put out. Within a day, any one of said people could make a map that rivals Westwood's own. Now, when you create a brand-new map, with triggers and elements all your own, I will take back my words. Until then, get the hell out of here, and take the bull***** with you.

It turns out the culprit is map4you, aka/dronez4 who has been doing all of this thieving of flyingz's map. Spoke to him yesterday in Yuri's lobby claim's his son did it.

I personally don't care, I know I didn't do any of the things i am accused of, simply because I don't need to, I have been editing and creating maps since Starcraft came out, I don't need flyingz's help or anybody else for that matter. And I have proof! Something you Idiots dont have.

In this time i have played 2 months further, till i was going off to play other games.
I have played "FlyingZ"-Campeign and Multiplayer maps in this time, too.
I was a good m8 4 FlyingZ - i was testing all maps, wich i do like.

I was searching all maps about "FlyingZ" and "Map4U" - so i was reading in any threads, that they are the most famous mapmaker in CNC-AR2-Yuri. ;)

Well, i was downloading all this maps and writing for me own ".txt-file" for each maps with instruction and details now.

I have get the contact with Map4U, how with Map4You (AR2 Mapmaker).
Now i am testing the maps and helping Map4U to creative any maps.

Map4U was talking with me about Map4You. I have played any maps of Map4You, but i can't talk much about him at moment.
I was talking with Map4You, too. Map4You say, that he is a old AR2 mapmaker and since AR2 is death - he has change to Yuri.
Map4U is a AR2-Yuri mapmaker and he was a fan of FlyingZ. He was try to learning, how i make good maps with triggers - how each other player, too.

You are actually breaking copyright law as, according to the Berne Copyright Convention, everything privately made after April 1, 1989 is copyrighted to the original author even if said author has not put that dainty little © somewhere in it. Also, this wasn't under the termage 'Fair Use' which is only good for commentary, parody, news reporting, research and education about copyrighted works without the permission of the author. Also, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act is nagging at the back of my mind, but I'm not 100% sure it's relevant. If FlyingZ could provide proof in court (and that little slipup of yours can be used) and, in this day and age of frivolous lawsuits, he could sue the pants off of you if he so wished.

So, to sum up all this legal talk, way to go idiot.

EA and Westwood reserve all the rights. Now if I used this material and then sold it for profit, then I would be breaking the Law, and they EA & Westwood would be able to sue.

The ini-files I refered to, are incorporated into the game, and are meant to be modified, hense, which is why the Olaf fella created the XCC mixer to extract these files and be able to manipulate them.

But flyingz knows all this, which is why he hasn't comment on this subject anymore. But you guys have plenty to say. Why?

And i explained i make maps for fun and im capable of making my own maps and they are also fun and i get lots of compliments & when ppl type 2 me i explain the spellings are different and i do not belive i am in any shadows 2 Map4U, Flying'z My son once put buildings in one of your maps But He didnt Edit in Any such Way And told my son If You Wish 2 edit a map Edit Mine i would like 2 hear the response of you flying'z and hope u welcome me 2 yuri's revenge And 2 all the people that like my maps Thank You :):) Good Gaming
