Anywho, my idea for a mod is to make the victory conditions different, I dunno if this is possible but I wanted to kinda make it like putting say...Battlefield 2 & C&C together, where you have to capture control points in order to win. If that doesn't work I have another one that could work but I'll save that for later as that is definitely possible and I dont want anyone stealing it.

What I would use it with though is an idea i want for a mod based on the book "Red Storm Rising" by Tom Clancy. I'd use 1988/89 era US & Soviet weapons, try and make the units so that it reflects the way the allies and soviets use their own tactics. Like the soviets use a more "tank rushing" kinda of doctrine but the allies use a more turtling type of doctrine. (except the Germans but of course I'll reflect that as well) Then also there's the squad format...I want to try and revamp that so you can have a mix, not just say all gunners but have a true squad, a MG, Anti tank and maybe a sapper (of coruse this is spec ops squad and there will still be a rifle, AT, MG, Mortar etc) Then there's also the SAM system. In real life, if you knock out the radar, a SAM cant' find it's target as well and has to use optronic or in later weapon systems IR. SO i want to try and reflect this with you having to build a radar, and it has a certain range you can see and if that radar is knocked otu your visibility as well as your striking distance is limited, but if you have one up, your fighting capability definitely shows it. There's others, but I have to look in my notebook to tell it all but, tell me what you think and if you have another ideas.

I'll also maybe need someone if they're interested in doing modeling, i'm great with code and stuff but when it comes to modeling i am not all that good. I can prolly learn but why when I can ge tsomeone else to do it lol.

I had wondered at the possibility of a mod in which Expansion Points were the only source of ground control, save a single Surveyor/Emissary/Explorer that the player can deploy at the beginning of the game to get started.

If it is yours as a matter of public record, they can use the idea, but you get the credit. If you keep it secret, then if they get the same idea but "publish" it first, they get the credit and you get nothing.

Tank rushing is generally seen as a cheap tactic. Turtling is generally considered tactical suicide as the other side can take control of most of the map (and thus most of the resources) and then outlast the turtle in a war of attrition.

That seems to be something of a common suggestion; I've seen something similar suggested over at Tiberian Dawn (http://www.tiberiandawn.com/).

Then there's also the SAM system. In real life, if you knock out the radar, a SAM cant' find it's target as well and has to use optronic or in later weapon systems IR. The thing is, SAMs generally have their own Radar systems, so they aren't dependent on the bases central Radar systems.

EDIT:

By the way, there is a thread for these sorts of things (http://forums.cncden.com/showthread.php?t=19258).

How could our idea get better? It requires a powerful mod editor. Once that mod editor is released, the idea of every kind should be found here, among which there will certainly be a great number of good ideas...
