I suppose most peeps by now have heard about the massive bridge collapse earlier this week in Minneapolis. If not, you can read about the aftermath HERE (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,291933,00.html). Although that bridge was labeled structurally deficient, and parts were in need of repair or replacement, the bridge wasn't due to be totally replaced until the year 2020. It was deemed somewhat safe for traffic. Obviously someone missed something. What scares me is the fact more than 70,000 bridges nationwide fall under the category of being structurally deficient. So you take your chances driving across them. When I travel to Ocean City, Maryland, I have to cross a bridge over the bay that's a few miles long. I'll be heading that way in about a month. I use to enjoy crossing that bridge, just for the beautiful view you get about middle ways. Dunno how I'll feel about it now. Those of you who live in New York City, the Brooklyn Bridge is over a century old. Give ya something to think about next time ya cross over it. Don't worry though. Engineers have already said that bridge is solid as a rock. I wonder if they were the same ones that inspected the Minneapolis bridge?...
