Hey. I recently got RA2, and am getting rather good at it
However I wonder, what are the best Tank-control tactics?
Mainly thinking about Rhinos and Grizzlies here
Any help grandly appreciated

Tank Control is not a tactic. Tank Control is not something you can say "do this, do that". It comes just automatically after alot of practice.

I would say it comes after time. Once you have had games like it you can do it pretty well. Like that game the other day Truefeel when I had to keep moving my disks It become easier =P

On naval, keep your Subs in linear formation parallel or close to parallel to your target.
Destroyers are best in clusters. Take advantage of your speed and and try to keep your distance from your enemies, diving behind land to block shots.
Any tank formation will do more damage against another if you make a line of tanks (think flattening, not piercing) and perhaps send one tank ahead of the others to absorb the enemy's first shot. The S button is your friend, it can really throw your opponent off.
With magnetrons, it works to rapidly switch targets for mass paralysis while you send your lashers and anything else right in the middle of it.
If you see enemy desos as Allies or Yuri, retreat and bust out the counters.

Allied: Sniper IFVs and BFs, Harriers and Black Eagles.
Soviets: Terror Drones (can knock out entire tracks if you can catch them unprepared)
Yuri: Chaos Drones + Virus. Against loaded tracks, magnetrons + gattlers.

That of lining up the subs can be considered TC, but that others are IMO just simple tactics.

Depends also on which players you play. n0obkillr was pretty close to you and I think those 2 games were excellent training for your TC :).

I'm after extreme basics
Like, (in a perfect world) when my Tanks fight enemy tanks;
- Should my tanks be still or moving?
- Close, or spread out?
- What fodder is effective?

I keep them moving works fine.
Close or spread out either way.

Like 15 gatt tanks (with 4 in bunkers) against 25 floating disks. What I didn't knew was that floating disks could actually kill vehicles while they are in tank bunkers. Suprised me alot.

Really depends. If you are in a good position, I'd say still. If you aren't, you need to move in a good position. Problem is that shooting tanks actually fire less (only a bit though)
Close, or spread out?
Absolutely close. you need to keep as many tanks as possible firing, which is more difficult when they are spreaded.
What fodder is effective?
If you are on low money:
dogs, but if he spams terror drones (happens alot when you nearly defeat your opponent), I'd say conscripts.
if you have enough money:
desolators+tesla troopers, and alot. such units are more then fodder: they can take out alot of tanks theirselves.
If it's end of the game and all the ore is mined:
war miners+desolators and tesla troopers+everything else (dogs, conscripts,...). Important that you keep the war miners+desolators apart from the rest, so that you can savely deploy your desolators at times (the miners are for killing drones).

Getting ur tanks to move along so they can move up as a wall is always helpful, unless u have more tanks and sure that their micro won't make too much a difference... but walls of tanks and even sneaky moves with drones and distractions can really get them down a peg, lets say, sending in a drone at the last tank, and attack when they destroy the tank (assuming they have noticed it;)), then that can really do u some good....

believe me, walls aren't good to move. You'll get pieces falling out and then it's easier to take it down. Each time you click on a place, the turret of the tank rotates to that place and so it needs retargets the opponents tank. Standing still tanks always have their target locked. The only reason why for instance I move my tanks alot is to get them into a better position were the opponent has less tanks firing on.

lol, never paid any mind to the PenetartesBunker=yes flag on the disk's weapon?
Anywayz, good tank control really comes with experience, we can give you some tips and tricks, but you have to develop your own TC and strategies.

Then u don't have enough tanks to make a good sized wall

I do have enough tanks. I'm just saying that when you're in a good position, stay there. Unlike most believe, moving basic tanks does not add to more firepower. I fighted alot of people who kept moving their tanks up and down, which resulted that they lost. And after that, they ask themselves and me why they lost.

Moving your tanks can help you, but not if you move them too much. As truefeel already said, when you click to move tanks, all the turrets reset to point forwards, so if you are trying to drive-by the enemy for example, just click once and then let them drive. If you click several times trying to move them around the edge just right, the tanks waste time spinning their turrets to the front, to the side, back to the front, back to the side again, etc.
