Lion

On Thursday the dry spell we've been going through in my neck of da woods finally ended about 10:45 A.M. in the morning as the mighty rain God sent a much needed gift. I was working on a roof when the VERY DARK CLOUDS started to roll in. Never seen em that dark and ominous looking before. When I heard the rumble of thunder and streaks of lightning in the distance, I knew it was time for this Lion to get out of dodge before I got toasted. I made it to my truck literally seconds before the rain started to dump what would end up being nearly 2" in one hour. Now THAT is a lot of water in a short amount of time, let me tell ya. We had wind gusts well above 50MPH, and the rain at times was blowing horizontal. Of course, the earth sucked in all that desperately needed water, but it's a tad late for most of the farmers and orchard growers in my area who have a 70% crop loss due to the summer drought. Where I live, farming is our main industry. But we've survived dry summers in the past, and will of course weather this one as well.
