Lion's Weekend Blurb - Aug. 18, 19

The Little League World Series started on Friday and continues through August 26th. I mention this because it is held in my home state of Pennsylvania, and the town of Williamsport. I've visited the place a few times. Anyhoot, all 32 games are televised, and you can see em on ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC. Yesterday I watch a few of the games, and was amazed at how well disciplined and talented the Latin American, Chinese, and Japanese players were as compared to our homegrown American boys. They throw the ball harder, hit better, and field better. Obviously they're well trained, and perhaps more so than the American players...least that's the way I see it. I just don't think American players have that 'eye of the tiger' look in them. Maybe they should watch some Rocky movies to get motivated. I'm not picking out on the American teams. Heck, I'm as American as apple pie and crawdads, and would love to see an American team win the Little League World Series. I just don't see that happening however. Anyone else think we're out-classed by our foreign competition?

Baseball match...Baseball game, it's called a game in the U.S. not a match. You can have a Cricket match or maybe even a Rugby match but you won't ever have a Basketball, Football or Baseball match. :p:moonie:
