Interesting story HERE (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/F/FBN_VICK_CHEWED_CARDS?SITE=FLTAM&SECTION=ENTERTAINMENT) about a woman who sold 22 Michael Vick football cards on eBay for a rather hefty figure. But they weren't any old plain Jane cards either. You can read the story for yourself. Anyhoot, I suppose Mr. Vick won't be playing football anytime soon. He is to be sentenced in December for his crimes against dogs, and could get up to five years in the pen. I watched him on TV recently saying how sorry he was and how immature he acted. Of course, he claims he is going to change and become a good guy now. That remains to be seen. I'm sure in time peeps will forget about how he tortured and killed those poor defenseless dogs, he'll get his career back, make lots more millions of dollars, and live happily ever after. Next case please.

it's a shame when people abuse animals for their own amusement and money. I heard that he may even get waaaay less time for pleading guilty too. :flame:
Well...I'm sure he won't get the max 5 years. Probably a year and then do probation.

that is probably the reason that he "found God". If he acts like he is sorry and remorseful , regardless if he really is (I don't know what he feels so I'm not commenting on that, I change the channel when the story comes on because I'm getting tired of hearing about it every day) it is more likely that he will get a shorter sentence.

I"d hope he's never allowed back in to the NFL. Besides the fact that he was gambling illegally, which it in itself is a big no-no with the NFL, the image that he now carries is by no way positive.
What a shame. He was(is) very talented.

You are all correct. Vick will probably get 18 months in the pen for this. Which means he will miss 2 years of playing football. He will 29 when he gets out of prison. Still young enough to play in the NFL.
But what I don't understand is this guy HAD $110 million dollar contract with the Falcons. He was making great money and he chose to do this as his hobby? If I made that much money I would probably have fun with a lot of legal things to do. He said he is sorry and remorseful (probably because he got caught) but it will probably cost him $100 million in lost revenue. (I would be sorry too, in fact I would be distraught and depressed)
I don't know if someone is that stupid can recover and somehow become wiser. I hope an NFL team will not pick him up after he gets out of the slammer. I think it would disastrous for any team to pick him up. PR wise he would be a hard sell to any fans including the RAIDERS.:hyper:
