So, I just hopped on the Den for the first time in a few months, and had a nice PM from Slapper! As I read I realized it was an attack on me. Wah wahh.

So I do what anyone sensible does, and make a post in Flamerz. Since he was basically flaming me anyways. I probably won't reply to this, because I doubt he'll ever see this. So I'll just post what he said.

Seriously, way to ashame men everywhere. I don't care if your wife did say that. I suppose your wife is also an expert scientist and has done research on menopause, stating that women cannot control anything while they're on the rag.

This tells me a few things Nilloc, it tells me:

1. You are not married and havent been for 23 years, you know dick all about women at 21 years of age other than they look nice and got a pussy.....You aint raised 4 kids and had to deal with Menopausal Women either, other than your own Mother if she is that old and damn straight she surely wouldnt take it out on little old you would she? Ask your Father how nice it is to deal with women at that age and time in life....

2. You know jack **** about women

3. You know jack **** about women

4. Again, you know jack **** about women

nuff said...next time you attack me for my opinions and cracking jokes, remember this pal, the door swings both ways and you will get flamed right back, lucky for you i just saw that today or id have posted this on the forum no probs..

Have a nice day.....

All I have to say is... Way to prove your ignorance. Way to make slick comments about "knowing dick all about women at 21 other than they have a vagina and look pretty". A fantastic way to generalize, I'd say. Which proves the fact that you're a ****ing moron who knows jack ****. The only thing you have going for you is the fact that you're "older", which I feel you believe gives you an automatic ticket to being thought of as wise and respected. Unfortunately, you have no capacity for either "wisdom" or "respect" when you attack another member for getting offended by some blatantly chauvinistic comment. Next time, have balls and call me out in the thread, how's about that?

Also, nice job to say I know "jack **** about women" three times. Really thought hard on that, didn't you? Educate yourself, dumbass.

1. Who the deuce is Slapper?

2. What did you say to him that prompted him to get mad at you?

Ask your Father how nice it is to deal with women at that age and time in life....

My Father doesn't seem to have that much of a problem. Partially due to him treating women with some decency, and partially due to the woman he married not being moody, and having some emotional stability.

1. Who the deuce is Slapper?

Slapper is this Canadian guy that usually comes around whenever Lion puts up a political post or something. He claims that he's a 40-something war vet that's been around and seen a lot of stuff during his tours, but a lot of the time it's really questionable if he's telling the truth.

While I agree with your sentiments nilloC, a PM is meant to be private. Showing his "creative" response does reveal insights about the man himself (things I'd already figured out from his great posts in the Daily Blurb), but seriously that's between the two of you. If you've chosen to take the issue with him in Flamerz that's fine, but Private Messages are meant to be just so: Private. While he seems to be offering to continue this discussion, I didn't see him exactly grant you rights to post his message. I say this because I'd rather not let the thread get closed on account of violating another member's right to privacy.

2. What did you say to him that prompted him to get mad at you?

nills posted what he had told Slapper:

seriously, way to ashame men everywhere. I don't care if your wife did say that. I suppose your wife is also an expert scientist and has done research on menopause, stating that women cannot control anything while they're on the rag.

Here's where it's from:

Yeah, there's usually a guy like that on every major forum I go to. Yeah, they're usually bulls**t. Pos-repping OP for telling him what's what.

Well, i did see this.

And im not sure how someone would do this and send you a PM from me, that was not from me. Nilloc, i would never flame you like that nor disrespect you like that and i swear on my mothers grave, that post was not from me. I mean ****ing seriously was not from me. Even to look at the language in it, that is not trhe way i talk nor do i carry myself either. Really it shocked me when i read this.

I respect your point of view and always have, regardless if i disagree.

Now id love to find out who that ****ing asshole is that can hack that **** like that.

And again, a rebuttal to the ****e i read from the rest of you.

46 years old, Canadian, 27 years in the Canadian military, 4 kids, a grand kid. what else you want to know?

I dont play flamehead or asshole to 99 per cent of the people here unless they personnally attack me.

whoever it was who did this has read some of my posts obviously, only word they got right in that PM was nuff said the rest, i dont write or speak like that. Nice try whoever you are, but deffo not my words.

Anyhow Nilloc, take it for what it was or dont, either way, it was not my PM, so i aint apologizing for something i didnt do. But even so, you should know me better than that.

Well, it's official a computer games forum, but facts show this forums are about just everything in life. Recently (in the past year) politics has became a very important part of these boards so I think your question is unjustified.

About this this whole "fued": wow, really strange. The only thing I can say is that the post "slapper" made is not slappers style. Slapper has really proven to put up a high level of communicating and it's atleast to say not his way of acting, the way "he" acted in that daily blurb topic. Normally I would not believe a story like "It's not me who made that PM", but in this case it seems for me less strange then the fact slapper would put up such a low level.

Slapper, is/was anybody else to use your username? Did/does someone know your password or did you maybe logged into someone else their computer and forgot to log off?

I Think my point was missed or badly worded by myself, i apologise for that.. my actual point is why is a 46 yr old war veteran, with children and everything, why is this person spending their time flaming and trying to match wits with a 20 year old computer nerd? surely they would have better things to do with their time?

Like you guys are all in your 40's or whatever, but you dont cause trouble.. hell i used to be a flamer but ive cooled down alot in the last few years or so.. i dont go on a forum with the whole attitude anymore. :squint:

Slapper

I generally dont flame people unless they really asked for it. And the language used in that PM, other than 3 words are not ways i generally express myself as the guys who been around a while know how i speak or carry myself. They got that right im happy to see.

As for what im doing here? Well, i get at times 3 to 4 weeks off work at a time after a Tour to get settled in to Civvie life. It is not easy to get back to a normal life after seeing what you see over there.

And i hate TV, not much else to do but make practice making babys and play video games around here where i live. not to mention my TV's are usually being used by the wife or 1 of the kids on the xbox 360 or the PS3, so finding a TV unused is rare.

As someone said, i was gaming long before home pc's were on the market and a lot of you were an itch in your daddys pants..My 1st PC was a commodore 64 that you had to be a programmer that spoke machine language or math wiz to figure out, it got thrown out. How old were you when a Commodore 64 was on the market?? lol. :D younglings, you think your the only ones allowed to play? i taught my kids how to play video games, to this day they cant beat me in Yuri, CC, and most of the games we play online.. Age means nothing, im a big kid, like most Dads are..

Slapper, is/was anybody else to use your username? Did/does someone know your password or did you maybe logged into someone else their computer and forgot to log off?

Yes at work and at a few friends homes, but i cant see any of them doing something like that. Im thinking it was someone here that had a personal hate of me or perhaps just a puke looking for some **** to cause, but im not an expert on hacking, so it could be any of these things, my friends, family or just a ****head hacker. Who knows, who cares, this was a long time ago, i only saw it this week for the 1st time, wanted Nilloc to know it wasnt me, thats all...I respect him and his opinions even if we dont agree on things.

Hahahaha, thats class.

There are no wits to match with a 20 year old puter nerd, i win, hands down. I figure parents who have lived a lot longer on this earth already got a headstart on things and understand issues of the world a little more than someone half my age or less. Thats not to say young ones are wrong, just not fully appreciative of the older persons experiences and life lessons. And parents arent always right, although i have no choice at times to admit when i am wrong, i got to eat at a table with 3 teenagers every night, i been flamed at my own supper table for being wrong...This is a cakewalk compared to that.

I had a Spectrum +2A, how about that? And i learned to program in qbasic with it. Plenty of (crappy) games i made to my cousins...
Later on one of them got a Comm64.

Pretty right, that's the spirit. Keep'em in short leash. Veterans are veterans. look into my sig.:D

Age means nothing, im a big kid, like most Dads are..

Honestly, some young ones must understand this. This and the fact that computer gaming is something old enough to catch and stick ppl to it (likely for life) since long time before.

No no, you misunderstand me again.. put your glasses on and pay attention, i didnt say you cant, i asked why are you? do you not have better things to do than flame people and start arguments on the internet?

And also, just a quick sidenote, age is not a prerequisite of intelligence, because your older you are not automatically more knowledgeable.

Age may not be a prerequisite of intelligence, but an inflated sense of self worth seems to be one of youth.

I might just have to take issue with that comment. When I see some of the "kids" comeing into my line of work and the line of reason they use to get from point A to point B I have to wonder how the hell they even dressed themselves that morning, hell, most kids nowadays don't even have enough sense to pull their damn pants up.

SirSnake
01-01-2009, 02:51 PM
Well, I suppose the issue is that "intelligence" from a given perspective (say, raw IQ) is a genetic thing; you're born with it and thus your age is irrelevant.

Obviously there are many forms of intelligence though, and most, like common sense, problem solving, lateral and logical thinking and so on, are experience based.

So you might start off in life good at them, but you'll get a lot better doing it as you get older (assuming you hone your skills), no matter your starting point.

Personally I find little substitute for experience in an area; but there are always very clever people who just seem to be unnaturally gifted for a particular task!
Either way a relatively dull older person can still get one up easily enough on a very bright younger person in certain respects, (and obviously vice-versa, its pretty context based).

So wait what was the point of all this?
Oh yeah old people cant play games, and whats a little disturbing is myself a few years ago would consider myself now to be "old"!

GettinGwap
01-18-2009, 09:32 PM
What are you saying? I'm a 20 year old computer guy(not nerd though, I do have a life). But I do agree that younglings like myself should not bash older people. Personally, I enjoy working around and learning things from people who are older than me, but maybe I'm just one of those wise people born with more natural intelligence.:D

But anyway, I don't know the science behind intelligence and aging, but over time, you lose brain cells to a myriad of factors, but you also gain a lot more experience. I find that older people for the most part are wiser than youngins so that's why I try to learn from them.
