Hi all, a mere two questions this time. Firstly i have an idea on getting units to Veteran without having them dropped in or chronoed. Basically it's a sacrificial building that you build and have your own units destroy. Obviously the first question is "Is it possible to make units Veteran from attacking your own buildings?" I'm pretty sure that it's impossible but what the hey, i thought i'd throw it out there. Next my other question is "What defines how much a destroyed unit makes the destroyer units closer to veteran, Example, Say i have a orca bomb 5 nuke plants and he becomes Veteran, but i have another that boms 5 infantry troops and nothing happens to that one, why is this?" If it's because of an INI please give me a name and thanks alot.

1. There are no Orcas in RA2 or YR.

2. A unit gains experience when it destroys 3x it's cost of enemys. For example, a Rocketeer costs 600. If it kills 2 Rhino tanks (900 each) that's 1800 which is 3 times 600, so the Rockie becomes vet. Then if it kills another 1800 credit worth of units, it becomes elite.

What I'm not sure of is if there is carryover or not. Let's say a rockie kills two Prism Tanks (1200 each) for a total of 2400 to become vet. Now does it only have to kill 1200 more to become elite, or still 1800 more? I think it still must kill 1800 more but I've never tested this.

I think it does carry over, because I played a game with the computer one time where I had a unit that killed a couple of things, became veteran, and then killed one more unit and became elite.

it does carry over, but to answer your first question, you cannot gain experience killing your own units. Also, the unit gaining veterancy must destroy 3 times his cost in soylent value(which is usually equal to it's cost anyway). This means that if a rhino had a soylent valyue of 1 , even if it cost 900$, the rockie would ahve to destroy 600 rhinoes to become veteran. The Soylent value is determined in rules.ini as Soylent=(number)
And stat, you could also kinda refer to the harrier as an Orca. After all, it's unit codename is [ORCA]

Correction: 1800. 600 is only 1 times a Rockie's cost. :p
