View Full Version : Lion's Weekend Blurb - Oct. 5-7
I arrived back safely from my brief shore vacation on Friday, and am glad to be home in familiar surroundings again. The off season is the best time to go to Ocean City, Maryland. At 11:00 A.M. on Thursday morning the boardwalk was nearly deserted (SEE PIC (http://www.cncden.com//trips/boardwalk01.jpg)). About half the shops on the boardwalk were closed, but my favs were opened. One of those is the Kite Loft. They sell kites of course, plus lots of other things that fly in the wind (SEE PIC (http://www.cncden.com//trips/kite_loft.jpg)). Dolly's where I get my salt water taffy was open, and so was Thrasher's Fries, the BEST fries I've ever eaten. I bought a large bucket of fries, enough to feed a whole army. I was sitting on a bench along the boardwalk enjoying the fries. A little sea gull landed a few feet from me. The little guy is hungry, I thought to myself. So yea, I shared a fry with him. A few seconds later his friends joined him (SEE PIC (http://www.cncden.com//trips/feedingulls.jpg)). One of those crazy birds actually took a fry out of my hand...no kidding! Anyhoot, once I gather my thoughts and unwind from the four hour drive home, I'll update the site.

Yeah, seagulls are fearless, and quite insane.
I think I was twelve when I was down at the jersey shore when one actually swooped in and took the back half of my taco out a mere couple of seconds after i had taken a bite. It certainly is an interesting look at evolutionary adaptation.

Pigeons are worse. Not only have they developed that kind of behavior in some areas, but they're unbelievably accurate with their droppings. Seriously guys, once or twice is understandable, but three times on my food plate is just unforgiveable!:tantrum:

Reminds me of a band called "Flock of Seagulls". You're lucky that they didn't gang up on you and shake you down for your fries and your milk money. After all they are East Coast seagulls. :hyper:
