View Full Version : Lion's Daily Blurb - Wed., Thurs., Oct. 10-11
An inspiring story HERE (http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/PersonOfWeek/story?id=3633945) (thanks Fei Liu) from my home state of Pennsylvania. It's about a 46 year-old computer science professor who is facing terminal cancer. He gave a farewell lecture at Carnegie Mellon University where he taught classes. The lecture was titled 'How to Live Your Childhood Dreams', and the Wall Street Journal called it 'the lecture of a lifetime'. You can see his video lecture via a link on that story link I posted. Just take the time and check it out. If anything, it should encourage you to take a more positive outlook on life, which we all need at times.

Actually after listening to all four parts I found the guy very encouraging, especially if you are young and getting ready to head off to college. It is great how some professors can truly inspire someone to achieve more than you ever dreamed possible.
I had a teacher like that in high school that I still remember him pushing me to finish my project that I had in architecture. The day before the deadline I finished my project (a shopping center) and he took it down that night to have it blue printed and submitted it to the organization that was sponsoring the project. I ended up getting a trophy from that project because my teacher believed in me. I will always remember that teacher for that.
The thing that really made me think is that I am five years older than the professor and he accomplished so much, compared to what I have done. :chin:
Thanks for posting that Lion, I found it very worthwhile! That guy is surely an inspiration!

:happysad: This man is remarkable, inspiring video. As a father of 3 kids, I think this is something most parents would like to be able to leave for their children? It will be cool, but sad for the kids.

Thanks for sharing that, I watched all the videos and passed them along, to a college professor as well.:)
