hello i have this problem that i cant figure out how to solve.:sadwave:
every time i play a game with over 3 generals the game crashes and a box pops up stating that it happend due to hard ware issues or a crrupt file bla bla bla. i have a shiney new computer:) xps 410 2 gigs of ram 2.4 ghz intel duo and 120 somthin mgb nivida 8600 videocard. now i could run generals on my computer that i had be fore my last computor with almost 8 generals with some lag but the game would not crash. i can use cnc3 at a prity good sitting too ( but i still like generals for several reasons). the point is that can you seriously suggest that my new exceptionaly good computer cant hadle a game thats 3 to 4 years old (not to sound mean). is there a fix or some way to prevent this from occuring other than just playing small games and turing some things down.

Just to be sure, is this a legal copy of the game? If it is, try uninstalling Generals & Zero Hour (If you own Zero Hour too), delete the directory(ies), & reinstall.

my advice is to delete the whole ea(generals folder including save games) folder and reinstall the game.if you not feel like deleting whole folder there is some other ways, you can check if any files in the folder is missing or corrupted...(open ziped/compressed files on your game cd/dvd)

lastly if you want to do this quck just delete everything( i mean the game folder) and reinstall the game if that aint gona work maybe soem files on the game cd/dvd r corrupted.
is yoyr copy legal?;)

yea agreed to above people.

1. reinstall the game
2. Avoid the pirated copy

You failed to mention your operating system... if you are running Vista..try running the game in XP mode...right click the icon on the desktop and click the compatibility tab and run as XP...if this does not fix it.. try turning off your UAC..

Start/Run/msconfig/tools/disable UAC/ launch... the reboot system.. then try..if still does not fix the problem.. then un/reinstall cleanly.
