Recently I installed Generals and then Zero Hour. I have not installed patches thus far... So maybe someone can tell me if I have to install all the patches or will the most recent one update the game. When I installed Zero Hour, did that update Generals? Anything special I should know about how to install a patch manually?

Any help would be appreciated.

No to all your questions. If you ask me, the easiest way is just to go to filefront and grab the patches, then install them manually. The auto-update is a little clunky.

If you installed your games from The First Decade, then you already have the latest patch. If you have seperate CDs for each game, then you will need to patch up.

If you have trouble getting online and use a router, you have port-forwarding to do. That's about it.

Thank you :)

I found the old EA Generals patch page and they are listing only the v1.08 patch for Generals. Is that sufficient? They do have all the patches for Zero Hour (v1.02, v1.03 and v1.04) except v1.05...
BTW nothing out of the ordinary has happened without the patches...

In true, u only need the ZH 1.04 patch. It solves many bugs and ridiculous imbas (while leaving others :gnarly:). It's needed to play online. Anyway read a little more about the 1.05e patch. it's not official but makes the game much like it would be: balanced!

agree too people above, 1.5e patch it is a must for owners. simply makes game more joyable and ballanced.:)

Thanks for your input but I am still a little confused....

Here is what I am thinking. When the original game and the expansion are installed, the most recent patch (ZH v1.04) should bring the game up to date. Is that the case here? Or do I need to install any General patches (ie v1.08) and/or previous Zero Hour patches?

The 1.04 patch will bring Zero Hour up to date and only Zero Hour only. If you want to update Generals you'll have to download and install the 1.08 patch for Generals.
