Moved from " Just a few questions i need answered...." thread.
First, much thanks to you both Me Myself & Pi and apple23 for the help. I did not have FinalBIG, and it makes finding and changing building and unit costs much, much easier.
However, I still have the same problem of the changes not effecting the game. This is, I believe, because I was utterly lost on the whole second half of both of your directions. Trust me when I say I am perfectly new to modifying, and none to savvy with computing in general.
Saving changes effectively... here is where it gets fuzzy for me. I tried to follow each step of your directions, but got lost.
"Once you done with you changes, save the file in the directory in the corresponding folders you see it in the BIG file in the game directory. So if you want to save the AirforceGeneral.ini, check FinalBIG. You'll see "Data\INI\Object\" in front of it. So you need to save the file in the Object folder of your game directory which is in the INI folder & that's in the Data folder. (You won't see the Object folder in the INI folder though, that's okay, just create one with "Object" as its name.)"
I'm sure this is clear to experienced folk, but it made my brain hurt trying to find these folders and where to put what after naming and creating what. Ouch. It hurts again.
I am thankful for the help, and have the find and change parts down, but do need some hand-holding on the saving part.
