Just wondering-
How do your Christmas mornings go? Do you get up early and open gifts, have breakfast etc, or is it family tradition to go to Christmas morning church?
In my family, its pretty much universal- get up at about 4am, take turns opening presents, have a big breakfast, go to grandparents.
Once a long time ago my entire family would meet at my uncle's house and we would have a large Christmas supper, unfortunately there has been a huge wedge driven in the family and that no longer happens.
This is the first Christmas morning I'll miss. I'm working until 0700 at the firehouse. Who knows, maybe if I leave some cookies out Santa will come down the hose tower and leave me a surprise. :p

I'll just wake up late as usual, unwrap the few gifts of which I already know what they are, then get back on my computer after I try out my new Xbox 360. It'll be just like ordinary, only we'll have a really shiny tree to my left.

In Iceland, the main Christmas celebrations are on Christmas Eve, which we call Aðfangadagskvöld. I think almost all Icelandic families have the tradition of eating a big dinner, with a sort of rice/almond pudding for dessert. This usually starts (with an appetizer) at or just after 6 pm. After eating, presents, which have been lying under the christmas tree, are opened. "Traditionally" I've spent that evening with my parents and my grandmother. However, as my parents got divorced last year, we started being with one of my mother's brothers for Christmas, and his family of course. We're going to be there for the second time this year, and I'm looking forward to it quite a lot, as they're great people. On Christmas day I'll be at home with my mother. In the (late) morning we usually have a very nice breakfast with croissants and hot chocolate. After spending the whole day enjoying presents and stuff like that, we'll eat for dinner a special Icelandic type of smoked lambs meat, called Hangikjöt. And on boxing day there are always leftovers :p

You get a new XBox 360 each year! Ok back to topic. Get up about 7:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. and start opening presents about 11:00A.M. After unwrapping, we play with what we get and wait to eat which is usually around 3:00 P.M. After dinner and cleanup we mess around with the stuff we got again until we go to bed. It's like clockwork every year.

Uh, opening presents or eating breakfast first. Breakfast first is more common now that everyone is getting older and more humbuggy.
Enjoy presents till lunch time which is when we consume the main meal. Stuff ourselves silly. Minimal movement in the afternoon, light dinner of leftovers, more restricted movement - this time with TV. Then sleep.
Repeat for Boxing Day, minus present unwrapping.

Bayram was yesterday, and we spent the day at our cousins in New York. Mostly played smash and Mariokart the whole time, but got to do it with people I hadn't seen in forever. :)
Left that house with $230. Muslim holidays are awesome.

Wait a minute... according to this, that means you've had the 360 ever since your first Christmas celebration... WHAT DID YOU DO WITH ALL THE OTHER 360's, AND WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US ABOUT IT MAN!?!

Like in Iceland most of the Christmas celebration in Germany happens on the 24th, but in my house we open the Christmas loot on the 25th. Around 1400 we have a good old fashioned turkey and ham lunch/dinner, made by yours truely. My wife doesn't know how to prepare American food so I do it myself. After that we usually take a drive to either the Black Forest or Frankenstein Castle for a family walk in the snow.

The little woman has to work Christmas eve, so we'll be staying at my parents house overnight while everyone is at my grandparents an hour away. Around 0600 Christmas day we'll head out to meet up with everyone. From there we'll hopefully have a decent breakfast, spend some time with my family, and open a few gifts. Around noon we'll head out for her grandparents house, and do the same thing, replacing breakfast for dinner. After that is said and done we're heading to my house.
The next day is the wedding rehersal, and on the 28th the wedding.

My sister and I will probably get up a bit early, go downstairs and see what Santa got us, then we'll get my parents up. We'll all talk for a little bit and then have some breakfast, then open each other's presents. We'll clear out the living room of all the presents and torn wrappers around noon in time for our extended family (dad's side) to arrive. They'll be more exchanging and unwrapping of presents, followed by "dinner" at around 3:00.
This may be the last Christmas in this format, because next year I go off to college making my parents empty nesters, and I'm not sure if Santa visits those houses.

You know, I'm just going to pretend that thats actually a word :p

Good luck man, take lots of pics. And leave an empty chair somewhere with your laptop on it so we can all be there :p

Well since I have a girlfriend it's out job to give both sides of the family an equal amount of attention:
Christmas eve: dinner at my parents house, have a good quality evening and go to sleep (for those who are over 21 read: get in bed with my girlfriend and do the good thing (starting a new Christmas tradition here))
Christmas morning: get out of bed late, Santa Clause is not a big thing in Holland: we have Sinterklaas wich is Santa's origin (at least that's what I beleive) and He brought us presents on 5 december. Then off to my girlfriends parent (where santa does visit) and op presents :D. We will be staying there till the next morning
Boxing day is my sisters birthday so we visit her, after wich my girl and I go to my place and she makes me a fantastic dinner :D
Newyears eve: I'll be staying at me girlfriends house till 0.15 aft wich we go visit my parents and we the go to the local cafe till about...... well I till we go home :D

My girlfriend and I celebrate Christmas with her family on the 24th. They come over to our house. We eat, open gifts, I'll listen to her dad talk about how he hate's widescreen t.v's, the usual. I'll have to go into work for about an hour.
Christmas day we go over to my mom's, eat breakfast, open gifts, and have a big meal later, then go back to work at some point that night again.

Sleep 'till 2 PM, wake up, realize it's Christmas, impatiently rip open Christmas presents, start planning album purchases with Christmas money while listening to new music and playing new game.

ERM...nevermind, I said nothing, go back to staring at my charts with meaningless statistics!

On a serious note, I usually get a new console every Christmas when there's a newer one out. For instance, after the N64 came out, I got an N64 on Christmas. When the original Xbox came out, Xbox on Christmas. And now this year with the 360.

So next Christmas it's a PS3? or a Wii?
Delta-4
12-22-2007, 02:33 AM
The PS3 is too expensive for not enough options and the Wii isn't my style, so probably the next Xbox or whatever MicroSoft makes next 'cause they own Rare and I'm still optimistic about Conker 3. :wired:
...it'll happen, just you see! :tantrum:
