Well, it's finally hit storeshelves, and the reviews are beginning to trickle in. Insofar it seems like Gamespot was the first to get their hands on it, and they gave it an average 7.5 due to a crappy camera, lot's of graphical and technical issues, and a lack of really new ideas. I haven't played it yet, but from what the message boards are saying it looks like it's suffering from some of the same problems Tib Wars had and then some. Check the link below for the review from Gamespot.

EDIT: OK, some other sites have indeed reviewed it and they're putting it around the 80's range in terms of scores. Not bad.

The main problem with it is that it uses Windows Live for online, which means paying $60 a year for what every other PC game in the last ten years has offered for free. The online community for it is already dead in the water, so the game, which had so much potential, will never be as good as it could have been.

First off, it's $50 a year (or it could be around 60 if you decide to keep buying the one months subscriptions, but that's a stupid thing to do).
Second, the reviewer missed the fact that waypoints, guard commands, and the other control things he said were left out are in the game, you just have to use hotkeys for them. And I still don't see why zoom is a problem.

The game has a camera that is close to the ground, so you can see less of the battlefield at a time. Its not a huge issue since the army sizes are limited though.

Yeah, but it's been blown out of proportion. In the next patch, though, the camera has been zoomed out by an additional 22%.

Hey nice game, It has been officially aproved by Kane Nash, just like World in Conflict, Crysis and Tiberium Wars. Oh yes, a bit off-topic but yeah, my PC handle Crysis at maximun visuals, thats for all of you who though my pc was crappy for having problems with Supreme Frauder, that stupid game is just too buggy.
Ok, back to UaW, great game, not exceptionally amazing but I have nice time playing it, the gundam girl and the rambo-general were decent protagonists of the ipod campaign, the sentimental mech its ok, he just required a bit more of animation, I wanted to see him hitting with his arms the enemy, the grey hitler boss was funny, all a caricature of the evil alien lord, and the psycho vortigaunt required a bit more of participation, well, and about the opympic trinity, what can I say? they were really impressive as cahracters but some of their powers were freaking awesome, oh and the peacebringers are really mammoth-like, dont you think so? :color1:

Yeah, the Peacebringers can take on walkers when they're in Dark mode and have full Dark Matter Armor. Those walkers are tough, though. Get one with Quantum Armor and it's going to take an army to take off hardpoints. Watch this (http://www.gamereplays.org/UniverseatWar/replays.php?game=32&tab=upcoming&show=details&id=24977) replay. Watch my walkers. Specifically, the Habitat and Assembly in the attack on GhostBirdofPrey's base and then on Kelathin's base. Those things take on amplifiers and win.
