So I went to see a movie, National Treasure 2 to be exact, and what do I see at the beginning but a cartoon?! And not only that, a new Goofy cartoon that was actually good! When was the last time any of you saw that!

Usually Pixar and Dreamworks does this, but Goofy is a surprise

However at the drive in here they still show cartoons albeit not usually new. When I was a kid before the movie they would play the National anthem and everyone would stand. I believe this stopped in the early 80's.

How can NT2 possibly be any good. It's part of a predicatable pattern, maybe the most predictable pattern in all of moviedom.

A. People make a stand-alone movie without planning for a sequel.
B. The movie is good.
C. The movie makes a large chunk of movie.
D. People decided to make even more money by making up a sequel.
E. The sequel sucks.

It was ok, not nearly as good as the first though. A lot of the plot was really far-fetched (even more so than the first). There was also a glaring historical inaccuracy at the beginning of the movie that I can't believe they made, though it really didn't matter to the plot one way or the other. If they make a third it will definately suck.

But this thread is not about NT2, its about the fact that they actually put a good new cartoon at the beginning of a movie! It almost makes me dream of a day when quality cartoons in the classic style will once again be produced.
