You, too, could be sued for thousands of dollars by the major record companies — even if you've never once illegally downloaded music.

That's because at least one lawyer for the Recording Industry Association of America, the Big Four record companies' lobbying arm and primary legal weapon, considers the copying of songs from your own CDs to your own computer, for your own personal use, to be just as illegal as posting them online for all to share, according to a federal lawsuit filed in Arizona.

HAHAHAHAHAHA...yeah right. I own over 700 original music CDs, and I've spent around $8500 collecting them. Obviously those goons have been sniffing lines of Ajax if they think I'm going to listen to what they say concerning my property.

You know, just because a lawyer says so, doesn't make it law. IIRC, courts have repeatedly ruled that you are allowed to make copies of music, movies, games, etc. for personal use. A court would have to overrule this to make this illegal. And I mean what do you expect the RIAA to say? "Yeah, make all the copies you want, we don't want any more money!"? So this is just them putting this out there as their stance, because its beneficial to them, but its not illegal until a court says so, and thats not likely to happen.

If that's the case, then why do such incredibly stupid label warnings like "Remove occupants from the stroller before folding it" exsist?

Because those are decided on by a jury, not a judge.
