Playing around with the Generals demo, and I was wondering, is it possible to group your troops together? For instance, in Starcraft, I can put up to 12 troops in a group and hotkey them (Ctrl+1 for example). Is there something similar in C&C Generals?

Well you could always try what has been standard in every RTS for 12 years...

Yes, just press "ctrl+1" when having units selected, then whenever you press 1, those units will be selected. Same with the other 9 digits. You can also press "ctrl+F" with having units selected & the units will stay in the formation their in, when told to move.
The back of the user guide says this & more. Didn't you read it?

What annoyed me in Starcraft was, unlike C&C Games, the small numbers didn't appear next to the units when selected, so you couldn't just hit "1" and instantly see which units on the board were group 1.

I agree that would be useful. I'll play the demo again tonight on Hard difficulty and play around with the grouping. Should make the game go faster.

If you're talking about units out of your screen, just hit it's number twice to focus them.
If not, i assume u've made units in groups to fit your need and therefore u should know which group is each, without needing to see them. In a mixed group it may be considered but, anyway, make a move and there they are. No big deal.
In Starcraft, the real annoyance is the little number of selected units per group.
And the prize to the best answer goes to... ... ... Derek
