Soviet Transport Helicopter help...

Hey all,

I'm trying to enable the Allied transport chopper for the Soviets, as I would like airborne transport... how exactly do I go about it? I've done many mods before in rules.ini but im stumped with this one...

Under the aircraft section in the file there's an entry for a HIND TRANSPORT and an entry for a BLACKHAWK TRANSPORT...

Which one is the one I have to edit and what exactly needs to be edited to allow the choppers on the Soviet side? I've been stumped on this one for weeks... anyone out there able to help me? :chin:

If you look at the *requisite* or *prerequisite* option (I forget which one. I assume you use TibEd?) and change one of them to Soviet War Factory, or whatever, then change the houses needed to allow the Soviets the Nighthawk. On the Hind transport, change the tech level to 1 instead of -1, then check to see what Houses are needed for it, then change the houses. I think Cuba is the one allowing the Hind.

The hind transport is a bit finicky, I advise you not to mess with that (it was a dead file that the programmers were going to add in, but just didn't in teh end)Unless you have quite a bit of rules editing experience (And judging by the question involved, you are probably somewhat new) Instead, copy the allied nighthawk transport (Codename [SHAD]) and change [Prerequisites=NAWEAP] and change houses to [Owner=Russians, Africans, Confederation, Arabs] And i think that will work.
Please note the Brackets are not to be used in the actual file, i just used them to point out what to put in/change.

Don't assume that people use TibEd. Most people don't and in my opinion the people that do should stop and learn how to do it the 'right' way

Make it easier - add all of the countries to the Owner tag and slap Prerequisite=FACTORY,RADAR on it. You don't even need a new JumpJet vehicle.

:) Thankyou very much Fenring. Thanks to your infinite wisdom my Soviet forces now have Nighthawk transports... muahahahaha!

Oh and LtMisha, no I don't use TibEd... I do all my modding the traditional way - Rules.ini in Wordpad...

Forgive me. I use TibEd. It's much easier, in my humble opinion.
