View Full Version : Renegade Online Weirdness-Have I witnessed a cheat?!

I don't play Renegade multiplayer a whole lot, and when I do, I usually just play so I can try and fly and Orca :D


But the few times I have played, I have seen this strange thing that I wonder if its a cheat or a mod thing:

Everyone seems to be an engineer, and they seem to know this exploit that allows them to get vehicles for free.

I know because someone got an Orca, which costs $900, but we only had something like $650 credits, but they were able to get an Orca by shooting the war factory with their repair guns.

What the heck is going on?!

You get money by damaging/destroying enemy units and structures and healing your own buildings. The engineers were just repairing the WF, which gave them some extra cash.

Are you saying credits are counted as a team and not individually? :confused:

No, its individual. The person who heals the building gets credits. More than one person can heal at a time.

I see.

Does Renegade have cheats like Jedi Academy, where you can spawn vehicles and such in game? (Not multiplayer.)

You can edit vehicles, but I don't remember there being any spawn options.

To edit vehicles, I assume you mean in gmax?

Depending on the server your in, you can spawn vechs by typing something like !vech in chat. This only works on a few servers though and i have only played on two that do.

No, console command entitled simply "EDIT_VEHICLE", if I remember correctly. You can change the vehicle's mass, speed, and a whole bunch of other stuff about how it moves. You can make a Mammoth tank drive faster than a Humvee.
