View Full Version : Tanya's too old!

I know that I'm in the minority here, but I've never liked Tanya. I've also always been an Allied player.

Assuming that Tanya was 18 when the first war happened (rounding to 20 for the round number and length of the war) and that Red Alert 2 happened twenty years after Red Alert 2 (I've always heard RA was 1954, and RA2 was '70s-either way, the Soviets need time to rebuild), in Red Alert 2, she would have been roughly 40.

Based on what I've heard of the story line, the Soviets changed the timeline after another war (allow 10-30 years for rebuild in between RA2 and the new one). If Red Alert 3 happens right after this new war is removed from the timeline, Tanya is a minimum of fifty years old, and possibly in her sixties or seventies.

Isn't it time for Tanya to retire?

Maybe Tanya is a codename and we get a new one in each game.

Except that in Red Alert 1, she was actually named.

Tanya Adams.

Could be her daughter- or her successor

And it really does not matter. I like Tanya even if she still looks young 100 years in the future. It is still only a game and Tanya is one of those characters that is hard to get rid of (like Kane)

I know it doesn't matter.

I know we can't get rid of her. If EA tried, the fans would revolt.

It's just something I've been thinking about.

Too bad Stalin isn't one we can bring back. He's one I "love to hate."

It will be interesting to see who they bring back, but that would depend how far in time RA 3 takes place in. I personally want to see Tanya, Zofia and Eva. I would like to see Nadia back as well but its not known if she was killed when the Allies leveled the Kremlin in RA.

I'm guessing that the original Tanya Adams actually was named that, but all the other "Tanyas" were named so afterwards in her honor, sort of like a codename. However, given how this game is more or less a warped version of RA2 however, anything can go, in truth. It could be RA1 as well, but given how technologically advanced everyone looks in the game, I doubt it.

I dont even think Westwood thought about it, they just wanted to have a Hott Girl in the game. I think 98% of the population that play c&c are guys. But if they did make a story for her, I like the Tanya as a code name or a daughter.

I thought number 3 was a sort of reset in the time line again. If that's the case, then you can still have a Tanya.

Tanya is a classic and therefore should not be taken away from the RA series, even though i am never the allies but the Soviets; Libya, their bomb trucks rule!

Tanya Addams was a German mercenary in RA1. She sure as hell wasn't 18, more like 28 - 32.

In RA2 we have a completely different Tanya, an American superagent that blows ships out of water and soldiers. Quite obvious the codename was adopted to honour good lady Addams.

Tanya exists as a fixed point in time... she never ages, and will live for hundreds of years... and before she dies, she'll tell the Doctor that he's not alone.

If I worked for EA (oh god may that never come to pass) I'd make Tanya old for the simple fact of putting her into a wheelchair armed with SMGs.

You know, that's what I thought would happen in MGS4.

Epic wheelchair CQC sequences.

I have no doubts the BBC could kick EA's ass in a lawsuit.

Anyway, it would be nice, if they ever get around to Red Alert 4, to see Tanya retired from the battlefield, replaced with General Tanya. Or not. It's an idea.

I don't think that might be radical enough...

One thing I would love to see if Tanya is brought back is a huge fight scene between her and Natalia

Probably already in the game. Probably near a construction site, too. With mud.:|
