I got a lame question, but since it's against AI in Skirmish I'm sure you won't mind.
I hate superweapons. Always did. I never use them for anything else than destroying enemy SW's (except maybe the Chronosphere or Iron Curtain in RA2). My question is, is there a way to deal with enemy Superweapons in Kane's Wrath without having to sacrifice expensive units on a suicide mission? I always try to destroy the enemy's superweapon before it can fire but the Ion Cannon (yeah, I'm a Zocom player) isn't powerful enough to kill any superweapon in one shot. Now I found that combining the Ion Cannon, that Shell Bombardment thing and Artillery Shockwave is just enough to kill a superweapon but obviously, as soon as you play against multiple AI's, you can't handle all Superweapons.

In Zero Hour, I just make two Superweapons to kill one enemy one (it's lame to make several SW's but I force myself not to use themon anything else but SW's), in RA2, I played on maps where there was enough water to have my Dreadnoughts deal with the SW and on TS I did a very lame thing: I edit the rules.ini file to make SW buildings less strong :redface: But as said, I only do this against AI's so...

Anyways, my question is, do you guys know a way to make it so you can build several Ion Cannons/Temple of Nod/Rift Generators in Kane's Wrath? I'd like to play against several AI's alone withuot being pummeled by their SWs all the time.
An even better solution would be if there was an option that just made SWs unavailable for the game, but there is no such option in the game :(

Again: this is only for against AI's! I don't play this game against humans.

when the AI has built a SW, I used to send 12 vertigo bombers to destroy it, those bombers are stealthed and also have a high HP(actually 9 those bombers could destroy SW, 3 more of them to make this method 120% works)

use your SW on enemy's SW is really a waste! I like to use my SW to their defensive towers or very expensive buildings(techcenter etc.) or a area full of many kinds of different enemy troops, vehicles together...

Yeah you're right. I found another way to deal with SW's... like you, I use Aircraft. I barely ever play with Nod (don't like Nod) but a group of 9-10 Firehawks with the Ceramic Armor upgrade do the job just fine. There is always some backway into the enemy's base that is less defended if at all which I use to sneak my Firehawks in and do their business. Requires some (simple) micro, but it works well.

It's just that I like to play with Reaper as well, but he has no powerful aircraft (like the Devastator) so I always have to sacrifice a few Stormriders even if they "sneak in" because they take more time to rape a SW... but I like the Reaper Tripod too hard to start using another Scrin faction :)

GDI - send em up into jet stream

Bring em back down behind their base, attack, get em out of site of enemie anti air and up to jet stream, back to base.

Alternatively send 3000 riflemen ;)

If you play as Scrin, there are a number of ways you can use to destroy superweapons with ease. My favorite one is to build a drone platform and have it float to the enemy's base. Meanwhile, have a signal transmitter ready. Land the DP in the base and build the ST. Summon the mothership, sell the structures, and send the enemy in oblivion with the awesome power of the Catalyst Cannon. Alternately, you could jsut train a Mastermind and use a womrhole to teleport it near the superweapon,and target the enemy Con. yard. Build the ST and do the same thing. It costs less, but is more risky. (Note: If you start doing all of these things the moment the timer starts, and if you never run out of credits, you can defintiely succeed.

I also find it annoying having to deal with multiple ai sw's. I think the BlackHand only ever build fake sw so have them as 1 of your enemys.

If you are nod use a stealthed reckoner with engineer to make him sell up, you must be quick to get the eng back in the redeemer. But of course the ai will immediately build another sw. try to keep the stl reck nearby.

If you are scrin you can use wormhole superpower to send engineers.

i heve never played as any gdi in KW.

I agree with you that there should be an option to diable sw in skirmishes.

Oh yeah, if you are nod you can also use spectre/shadow team beacon thingy.

funniest trick ever, put a wormhole in their base, have one of ur units stand right next to the wornhole entry so u can go through on the click, now get a mothership to shoot something else nearby that causes this first unit to light up and ready for a chain reaction, send the unit through, it'll blow up and set off chain reactions in their base. takes out more than just the superweapons! :P
i think they fixed that in 1.02 though cuz i havent been able to do it anymore (even accidentally blew up my own base once trying, stupid harvester was in the wrong place at the wrong time)

I think 8 firehawks from ZOCOM can handle a SW...gotta make sure none of them get shot down...but as someone already said set them to jet stream.

better to just worry about getting 8 of them, considering the AI will have their tech buildings up before you can even build a command post.

nah, if ur concentrating on teching, u'll get ur tech long before ai, but most people that play againt ai tend to turtle around with low tech stuff before they go for tech. i think its best if u either stick with an outrite low tech rush (prolly ur best chance of winning against brutals) or full tech in which case you should have ur tech building wihtin the first 4-5minutes, any later than that and the ai will have theirs along with superweapons + walkers which means "HOLY CRAP! THERES 50 MAMMITH TANKS IN MY BASE!! ZOMGWTFBBQ!"

yea that's true...still freaks me out though that I heard the scrin epic unit rawr from a brutal base before I'v even built a command post...:hmm:

well thats cuz u prolly werent full teching, and dawdlng around with low tech stuff or expanding ur base. only takes about 5minutes for traveller to get full tech + epic unit which is prolly gonna get followed by a tripod + PAC attack
