Greetings!
Notice I didn't say "WMD."
I am also including the Chronospere and the Iron Curtain in this thread.
The name says it all. What is your favorite Superweapon in C&C?
Mine has to be the Chronosphere. :D In addition to being a VERY loyal Allied player, I love the mobility it affords, especially in Red Alert 2 (though I very much prefer the way it looked in the original Red Alert). I love dropping units (say, Prism tanks) in the middle of an enemy base and leveling it from the inside...or at least leveling their Construction Yard and War Factory/Ore Refinery. I also love dropping a massed group of Apocolai (or a couple ore miners) into a lake.
So go on...tell us. What's YOUR favorite?

Ion Cannon. Pinpoint destruction whenever, wherever you need it, Can't get better then that.

Ion Cannon for me. In CNC3 they actually made it as powerful as it needs to be.

Yeah there is just something so awsome about a weapon that in real life cannot be stopped and cannot be hidden from. heck there would be very little time from the light in the sky to a big hole in the ground.

I always loved the Ion Cannon, but I'm a sucker for nukes as well. Chronosphere is pretty awesome too.

C&C3 Ion Cannon. It was just so awesome to see it stop with that little cloud...then BAM!

Iron Curtain, there's no stopping it's speed :D

There's no stopping it's speed, or there's no stopping your invincible Apocolai? :D

1st place: Soviet Iron Curtain. As a die hard Soviet player, it's just too funny to use it on 9 Apocalypse tanks and screw a base with it. Or even more funny is Iron-curtaining 9 Libyan Demo Trucks and let them in the enemy base scattered around and then calmly wait the Iron Curtain to wear off. I always played this game against AI's only though. 2nd place: GLA Scud Storm. It's so destructive and it's just a cool sound when it gets launched. Just a cool looking superweapon. 3rd place: GDI CnC3 Ion Cannon. Also because of the animation. It has such a badass "dont mess with GDI" animation when fired. And the sound of the alarm going off when it's ready is nice too.

comon, has everone forgotten the incrdible power of nukes?
i do not care that the scud may hurt a little more, or how accurate they are
as loyal a socialist as i can be, nuke em, and thier three eyed grandkids!! even if you lose a unit it is worth it!!
a quote from ra2-do not fear losing a conscript, for every 1 that falls 1000 are ready to take his place!

Ion Cannon for me. In CNC3 they actually made it as powerful as it needs to be. I, personally, prefer the Tiberian Sun version to an extent. Yes, the Ion Cannon in Tiberium Wars is powerful, but in Tiberian Sun, it hits instantly. It could have stood a little extra firepower, but the instant hit is very satisfying.
Although it isn't canon, I also really like Shockwave's Temple of Gaia. It may not level buildings like a Nuke or Scud Storm, but there is something deeply satisfying about setting off an earthquake inside your enemy's base. The fact that it completely disables everything in its area of effect is also a definite plus. Not to mention that it looks cool.

That may be true, but even though the ion cannon from CNC3 isn't instant, the beams that swirl inwards do damage as well as the targeting beam in the middle. That makes up for it switching from instant to charge up.

I understand where you were coming from though. If the beam in TS was stronger and had a bigger destruction radius then I would have leaned towards it more.

Yeah if it was instant in C&C 3 i would totally go for it every time (even if it was weaker.)

If I remember correctly, the Ion Cannon in Tiberian Sun caused terrain deformation when it hit. You could pretty much kill the person's building and prevent him from building there again. In fact, you wouldn't even have to target a building, just a potential building spot.

I forgot about that. That does raise an interesting point though. Now my decision is starting to waiver a little.

It only deformed if the building was not on concrete. The multi-missle did the same thing except in a wider area. That missle made my bases spread out very wide.

It's kinda like a double edged sword. Oh well, I still favor the CNC3 ion cannon.

The Ion storms in Tiberian Sun could have been the best superweapon if they ware made such as lightning bolts in Red Alert 2. All the nukes, however, are disappointing, they should explode much "heavyer"...
You forgot the tiberium liquid bomb and the explosion effect on tiberium fields - the tiberium explosion chain reaction is the best damn thing after massive explosions - loads of tiberium explode everywhere...
You might want to remember in CNC2, that despite chemical attack being weak to nuke, it creates those "FLESHLINGS", those maul everything in their path. Body chunks could have been a great afterfact devastation..
Mothership sucks, chrosphere - ain't a weapon to me. Iron curtain - it could withstand 90 % of damage, not 100 %, looks unnatural...

Ion storms wasn't a superweapon. It was an ambient effect that was programmed into the map.
Nukes in RA sucked, but the RA2 nuke was actaully pretty destructive.

Liquid tiberium bomb isn't a superweapon either, it's a support power. Big difference, actually.

The gas left over from the chemical bomb was what caused any infantry nearby to mutate into visceroids and kill everything. You had to aim it pretty well to get this effect, however, because if the misslie killed the guy he couldn't mutate.
Mothership sucks, chrosphere - ain't a weapon to me. Iron curtain - it could withstand 90 % of damage, not 100 %, looks unnatural...
mothership sucks?!??!?!??!?!!?!?!?!??! Are you on some kind of drug?
Chronosphere wasn't really a weapon, nor was the iron curtain. They were, more or less, support powers. Anyways, what do you mean by "It could withstand 90%, not 100%"? What is "it" referring to?

chrosphere - ain't a weapon to me.
Well, your opinion on whether or not it is a weapon is not really important, since the thread-starter said:

Iron curtain - it could withstand 90 % of damage, not 100 %, looks unnatural... Actually, a unit under the protection of an Iron Curtain is completely invulnerable.
Mothership sucks
If your enemy clustered his buildings together too tightly, the Mothership can annihilate his entire base.

My oh my, so many choices.
1.I guess this would be the Ion cannon from the original CNC, nothing like pinpoint accuracy and deployment at the press of a button.
2.Rift Generator, becuase of its instant deployment makes it good against attacking land forces.
3.Chronosphere, because there is nothing like the pleasure of teleporting a bunch of prism tanks in the middle of your enemies' bases, not to mention they kill infantry and you can teleport enemy vehicles into the water and the same with enemy ships, vice versa.
4.CNC 3 Ion Cannon, it has greater power and strength than the original, but it doesn't give you that strike t that same spot thing the ion cannon in the original CNC does.
5.Nuke from RA2 and Yuris Revenge, base killer anyone?
