:rant:too bad there wont be a prism tank , in red alert 3 those tanks rock big time ,they would wreek some serious havoc in red alert 2 only 10 could wipe out a base and you wouldnt need anything else but just those ten prism tanks but maybe they will surprise us.

Prisms were the most powerful tank, but had next to no armour. You'd need alot more then 10 to take down a bace that has defences

If an enemy left his base unguarded by tanks and/or air units, and you were able to keep him from reinforcing, it wouldn't even take 10.

Unless they were France...

Besides, I'm just happy they brought my beloved Mirage Tanks back.

Always check your ore miners...they might not be what they appear to be. :D

No offense, but I fail to see why you are so upset that the Prism Tank was removed. Yes, it was powerful, but power is not always the best criterion for determining whether or not a unit should be included in a game. Quite frankly, if you are able to use Prism Tanks on their own, without any support, to demolish an enemy base, then they should not be included.

So...There should be no Apocalypse tank?

Thats what it sounds like to me.

Apocalypse Tanks were not overpowered. In fact from what I understand, they were only used sparingly to compliment the main (and far more significant) force of Rhinos.

Well Prism tanks weren't in Ra1, so it can only be a good thing.

Although I'm sure they'll make up with it with a tank that shoots submarines, or a burrowing aircraft

Sorry but I think 10 Prism tanks is already overkill... :lol:5 Prism tanks can demolish a brutal Soviet base in RA2. Unless the Soviet AI has 3 Apocalypse tanks which can destroy your Prism tank attack force (I usually build 4 Apocalypse tanks to defend my base from Prism Tank offensives ).

....
That would be one hell of a large tank :wtf::wtf::wtf: and the siege chopper is rather close to that description (I'm rather sure that tank would be so not needed that it wouldn't be used)

Ok for one thing, your talking about a playing against the comp and not a human opponenet. If you were to actually play against a human opponent then I assure you, you would need more than just 5.

9 + chronosphere is always fun if your opponent is asleep and doesn't defend the inside of their base :p

Of course, that rarely happens, and rarer still you get the chance to use that tactic :(

what is fun is having fully promoted ones and using infantry to bounce the beams off to destroy a distant and out of reach building. (even using trees as a bouncer.)

So...apparently you've never massed Apocalai.

They'll gut a base rather quickly too.

No, I never played much RA2. I'm going on what I've been told by the best RA2 players. I think they might know a thing or two.

Appoc tanks stink. They are totally slow. IFV's can hit and run them easially. Even chrono IFVs would take them out like no tomarrow

A mixed force of rhinos and apocs can be better than pure rhinos, although it's harder to micro. But pure apocs are decidedly worse than pure rhinos.

Gaucho8788

I never really built many Apocs, really just built them to compliment whatever else I had.

Yeah, i was talking about the 'brutal' Soviet AI. I remember my pal sent rushing his 25 prism tanks but I stopped him from doing that. (Maybe because I have 10 Yuris and 5 Apocalypse tanks patrolling the area :lmao:)

Statalyzer

I would think 25 prisms would beat that, since they can kill the Yuris with long range shots before getting mind controlled. And then you're left with apocs, which normally wipe out prisms, but not when outnumbered 5 to 1.

Can't the Prisms just kite the Apocs?

It still depends on your strategy, however he ordered those prism tanks to attack my CY , so I was able stop him!

That's why you need to observe your enemy's movement first before attacking :D

Ah, the often forgotten aspect of war: scouting.

The one way to make sure your army can match your opponent's, and grab strategic points before they do. Love it.

Gathering intel is half the war.

Especially because if you can't succede to scout early on, your enemy will have grabbed those points and thus make it impossible for you to scout there.

Not impossible. Merely more expensive.

The early game can be seen as a strategic race.

Yes... If your scouting units are high-tech. This ones quite easy if your map has A LOT of chrono miners under your control. rotflmao.

Don't get what? Scouting is expensive if you use high-tech weapons (e.g. Yuri, Apocalypse)
