I've been trying to pos rep here lately and no dice.....keeps telling me to "Spread it around"...what gives?

Means you haven't been giving it to a different enough number of people. You have to give pos rep to a certain number of others before you can repeat a pos rep on the original person.

I personally believe the "spread some around" feature would serve its purpose better if we had about 10x the active users. For now, I think the feature is no more than an annoyance. I give out reps rarely and less than 12 members regularly warrant it, and so I would appreciate if the restriction was altogether removed, or at least cut down to 3-5.

Hey, we'd still report if it was abused.

Seems some people like to anonymously neg rep me.

Do you have to spread Neg rep around too, or is it for Positive only.

It's one combined system for all rep. You can only rep the same person every 20 reps you give out.

:squint:A little advice for neg-reppers: Any Forum staff can see who neg or pos-reps them....

In other words, be very, very careful:D

Spreading rep is only for pos-reps....

If that were true then you could neg-rep the same person twice in a row. When you rep someone, + or -, you have to wait to be able to do it again.

:thought:OK, I`m not 100% sure how they work either, but anonymous neg-reps should no be allowed IMHO

maybe have a system that automatically signs someone's reps? wouldn't that solve the whole problem?

It would solve the problem of, who rep'd me. It wouldn't solve the issue of having to +rep people who are either, not deserving of it or someone you wouldn't normally give a +rep, just so you can +rep someone who actually deserves it. Actually if you were to count the -reps towards the count, or decrease the amount of +reps required to rep someone again the problem would probably be fixed or not as noticeable.
