Me and my friend have been arguing over if GTA is over or not. He says that GTA is over, Rockstar shouldnt do EA type tactics and milk the series just to make money. I think Rockstar will do like they did for Xbox and PS2; a produce at least two more or four more if you count the PSP versions. What do you guys think.

The series is still producing very high-quality games to a very hungry market. It would be a pretty stupid decision to suddenly end the series. You aren't milking a franchise if you're still producing good, new games. I mean it's hardly the sims. :p

Seeing as the series does not have a continuous plot, its definately not over. Nor are the really milking the series, at least not yet. Hopefully they will stop using numbers before the get to high. Four is about as high as I like to see, after that its getting obvious that the series is old (Final Fantasy).

ea releasing bundle after bundle with so called "collector edition only" features is milking a franchise. making a new game and releasing it on its own or in a bundle such as valves orange box is not.

Nah, it's far from dead yet, let alone needing to be killed. As it is, it just needed a new gameplay and story direction, and GTAIV pretty much did just that, so it's doing fine.

Again I reiterate, I hope EA does not buy RockStar.

QFT. Why quit when they're bringing in tons of cash and the games are quality? That's just stupidity at it's finest and hurtful to the consumer.

The GTA series is still a high quality series. GTA4 proves this.

It can be milked that's true, but Rockstar is HELL of a lot better then EA in this regard because Rockstar actually CARES about their games. Unlike EA who churns out more crap then an asshole.
Some of their older games are great, but lately it's just been crap.
