First off, I'd like to request that this thread be stickied by a mod and i'm probably going to post a similar thread in all modding sections.

Anyways, This forum has seen alot of new guys come in with big questions about modding, however they just band together a few words and think that they can leave it to us to figure out what they are asking. Needless to say, it usually takes about 5 replies to even figure out what he is asking, let alone how to fix his problem.

So, I've devised a very simple guideline for how to post a modding question. If you follow this format, your question should be answered in no-time.

1) What is your goal?
It's always best to start off by very clearly stating what you are tying to do in the question that you have. This dosen't mean a full description of your mod, but simply a description of the part of the mod that you are having problems in. We want to know what you are attempting to do.
2) What have you done?
Secondly, we'd like to know what you have done so far to get at accomplishing your goal as stated above. Please provide, in the best detail possible without typing too much text, a step by step recap on what you have done so far. Also here, please state the last set of changes you made between the last time the mod worked properly and the time you started having the problem, as well and any changes you made since you had the problem.
3) What is your problem?
Now for the real meat. You've told us what you have done, so now what is wrong with it? What is not working? Please give us, in great detail, all the error logs you have recieved, what happens when you try to test it, what's missing, etc. This should be in the greatest detail possible to ensure that we can identify your problem and a way to fix it.
4) What resources have you used?
It might be worth noting all the resources you used to make your mod. If you used thing like: Tutorials, graphics editing tools, map makers/worldbuilders, and any other modding related tools, state them as well. Who knows, it might just be a problem with your tools.
5) What files are you using?
You may also want to include the file which is giving you this problem, so we may look at it and get more insight on your problem.

I would like to add here that if you do not read this section fully and follow all guidelines before posting your question, your question will almost certainly NOT be answered.

For all our sakes, just read the damn thing.
