so i had a hankering to play cnc tiberian sun and possbly add firestorm later once i rebeat it. so first time around the install was a bit odd. it would pause twice before continuing. however the game did start but i didnt play. i wanted to update it first. i couldnt even use the internet in the game it self. something about misssing dll's? yes its a legal copy. anyway i tried to update and i get the "missing or invalid registry/INI entry" error. i dont understand why its giving me so much trouble. ive played cnc tib sun on windows xp home before on sp2. so why is it struggling now? i googled around for an answer and so far its just to use compability mode. which i shouldnt have to anyway. however using windows 98 mode to install made it as smooth as it should have been. but i digress. the update, even in windows 98 mode, still gives me that error. so whats going on here? o.O any one could help me? im not even sure if i can play multiplayer on the servers if i update since ive been getting issues. thanks for your help.

Wow this is creepy. I was just going to post this, and everything in your situation reflects mine down to a t. Even the thing about firestorm.. what the hell? o.O I think it needs to be reinstalled? I'm not sure.

BTW internet doesn't work, its on XWIS now, go to cncgames.com, its all right there on the top of the page.

thats where things get sketchy actually. i made sure tib sun was in 98 mode and the patcher too which didnt help. but i kept trying and then it asked for a file that i had to navigate to. so i helped it along to sun.exe. i believe then it worked. if this doesnt work ill redo it i guess :p
