Effin' A... looks like I gotta upgrade a bit... Assassin's Creed ran awful on my PC, and it required a 6800 (I have a 6600)

Plus, I need more hard-drive space...

I don't think I'm getting into the beta. My registration back in March seems to have fallen through the cracks and I never got the confirmation email sent about a week ago. Apparently this happened to a lot of people because there is a thread on the official forums for people to post about this problem.

I don't remember, did they give a date when they will be releasing the beta version?

Good to know I'll be able to run it on either of my PCS.

Thankfully I got my E-Mail. I registered about 2 minutes after my KW popped through my letterbox!

holy crap, it requires RADEON X1800?!?

CNC3 was minimum to RADEON 8500, wich was EXTREMELY outdated, but the x1800 is one of the newest RADEON cards out these days...

The games run on almost the same engine, don't they?

I can run Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance on max settings, I'm pretty sure I'll be perfectly fine.

C&C3 ran awful and frequently crashed on my Radeon X300. Since the X1800 is a high-end card, I'm assuming that the developers want to be a little more honest this time around with the min requirements.

I tend to play on low no matter what so I should be fine even though I meet the minimum specs except maybe on processor. Only a 1.8 gHz Core 2 Duo. :p

Well I have a RADEON X1550 XGE, which when i bought it less than a year ago, it was the best RADEON card I could find...

If you are right, Daishi, I might still be okay with my current setup. I can run CNC3 on medium-High (custom settings based on high detail) so I should at least be able to run RA3 on minimum considering I might get a new processor soon.

I have a RADEON 1650 Pro 512 MB card and I can run the RA3 beta on its highest settings with no problem

My Specs:

Intel Prescott 2.4GhZ w/ 2MB cache
2GB RAM
RADEON 1650 Pro 512 MB
120 GB HDD
Sound Blaster Live
20Mbps Cable connection with a 2Mbps upload speed

And I have no problems running the beta or any CNC title.

Same problem here. Possibly, you can still use the code but with a download from someone else?
Requirements should be no problem at all.

I think I may be in trouble with the Beta. Frak. I have to have CnC3 and KW on low quality settings to run at a good speed.

memory is good
I don't have the processor. FRAK!!!

I'm going to see if i can get KW this weekend and sign up for the beta. I'll get back to you guys when I do.

Also, was Kane's Wrath any good? I'm personally kind of excited to see what they did with it.

I really hope that this one will run smoothly on our Server at home:
Specs:
-Core 2 Duo 2.8 Ghz
-4 GB RAM
-GeForce 8600 GT
-16x DVD RW
-250 GB SATA HDD
-XP Professional SP2

should be fine, mine runs on 1280X1024 all high with no AA with a 2.4 dual core AMD, 2gb RAM and a nVidia 7950GT

thetechieotaku

What if you run it on Virtual Machine that has the following configurations?:
-uses the two 2.5 Ghz Core 2 Duo of a MacBook Pro
-2 GB RAM (4 GB on host)
-XP Pro on the Guest OS
-10 GB HDD for the Guest OS
-384 MB VRAM (The VM supports DirectX 10)

Just curious. hehe. :D

If you're running it on anything other than a Windows machine you're probably ****ed. A dual boot machine might work though.

I really hope that EA would release RA3 and KW for the Mac. It would now be safe to switch. :D

Those sound like bad requirements for me...
I don't understand the Radeon system... I have a higher number (9250) but the lower numbers seem better unless they are too low...

apple23
08-03-2008, 05:59 PM
The way thier system works, they started with the RADEON 7500, then the 8500, then the 9200 and 9250, and so on, then they came out with the RADEON x- series, starting i believe at x100. If you have a RADEON card that is below x1000, you had probably better get a new card anyway.

I'd reccomend the best card you can get for a decent price.

In other words, a RADEON x1550, for instance, is MUCH better than a RADEON 9250.

If there ever is a RADEON x9250, it will be a million times better than the RADEON 9250.

Also, do you play CNC3 on your RADEON 9250? As far as I knew 9250 wasn't supported.

Lazzars
08-03-2008, 06:35 PM
wow the 9250 is old, i mean really old

i had one of those 3 or 4 years ago and it was old then

apple23
08-03-2008, 06:41 PM
yeah i just recently ( actually about a year ago now) switched from a RADEON 7500, and that thing couldn't even play generals.

Avapodnaught
08-04-2008, 11:34 AM
It was either 9250 or 9500... it played fine on all three games Generals, Tiberium Wars, and Kane's Wrath until something went wrong and DirectX errors came up on all three of them...
I had no idea what the problem was.... how much are these Radeonx cards anyways? I got the 9250 or 9500 for a little over a hundred dollars... they must be more expensive now they have better ones in stock

apple23
08-04-2008, 01:15 PM
I got a used RADEON x1550 XGE for 125 USD and it works perfectly fine for me.

Would an NVIDIA GeForce 8400M G suffice? D:
And well, yeah a 2.5GHz Duo Core Processor.

I mean, the actual game requirements shouldn't differ that much from the Beta, right? :3

Are the recommended requirements also known ?

Hows about this, I know this is really on the thin red line, but could anyone tell me if RA3 could work with this:

1 GB RAM

40 GB SATA hardrive

nVIDIA FX 5500 256 MB video card

1.8 GHz processor

I downloaded the CNC3 demo and it works fine on the lowest of the low settings.

P.S: Anyone got an extra gaming computer they don't need? lol

As above, i have a GeForce 8400m GFX which i think will be fine, but 1.9ghz AMD dual core, so will this work ok?

Tbh i was hooked on RA2 a while ago, and only come across this website looking for it, not sure i want 3 yet...

RA3 would work okay on the minimum graphics with a PC like that. Even then, I'm not sure if you could even play RA3 with those specs.

If you do buy a brand new PC though, do some research and really find just the right PC for you. Get it custom built if you have to, usually it is cheaper if you custom build the comp.

If you do that, save the tower from your old PC; it is always best to reuse as many components that you can, like the fan, PSU, case, CD drives, Hard drives, but get a new Processor, MoBo, RAM, and a better graphics card.

And one other thing I've learned from experience, going out to an electronics store and buying the hardware yourself (as opposed to buying online) will usually get you the best deals, especially at places like Fry's Electronics where they buy lots to used stuff for HUGE discounts.
