In Hell march, the first, second, and from what I can gather, maybe the third?

They are the small clip right before it really kicks in

I know it is something, but it ends in Red, Blue or something.

Maybe because soviets are always red and allies blue?

Now tell me, what say you?

It is just shouting. No coherent words are formed.

Frank K originally just picked it because it sounds cool. He found out later that its apparently German for "We want war". I don't speak German so I have no clue if its true.

hmm, really? it sounded like random shouting to me...

why would that be random shouting? it is repeated over and over and its in another language. sounds like something that reminds me of hitlers rants in front of the crowd. and as for it saying "we want war, to fight!" it sounds like thats what it says. but i would figure the words would sound different in another language.

I can't view the clip since I'm at work, but "We want war" in German would sound "Wir wollen krieg"... I'll listen tonight and see if I can understand it.

i'm sure its on his website somewhere, its just some guy shouting "we want war, so fight" or something

EDIT: its on the site and says its a german phrase for "ready weapons"

The last two words sound like "Wake up!"

Oh, I knew it was German for something, I guess I got mixed up with the common "We want war" interpretation.

Die Waffen, legt an

Or at least, that's what I've always heard it is, and after listening closely, I believe they are correct.

"Die Waffen" would mean "the weapons." Note that the Waffen SS was the military, or "armed" branch of the SS in WWII.

"Legt an" is more problematic. In the one year I took German, these words never showed up. I plugged them into freetranslation.com and got "designs."

So it would be "the weapons, designs." This is, however, nonsensical. It may be that the words have more than one meaning, or that the implication of putting the words with die waffen would be to get them ready.

But anyway... yeah. They apparently mean "Ready Weapons."

Not that the first 3 syllables sound like much of anything, but they really don't sound like 'Die Waffen", since the emphasis in the chant is the strongest on the 3rd and weakest on the 2nd.

And why is this in RA3 and not Other C&C?

"Legt an" means "ready weapons" or "aim"
