View Full Version : Apocalypse overkill

So anyways, since I'm still getting to know the game better and better and trying to find the best tactic, I'm doing some skirmishes. The main tactic is to constantly keep pressure on your AI opponents to prevent him from becoming too powerful while stil spreading your base to other Ore Mines
The question often is... how do you do that and what unit mixes is best. I think I found one involving Twinblades and Migs combined with naval attacks with Akula's.
After I sucessfully took over half the map and kept Commander Kenji undeveloped, I thought it was time for some pointless production for fun. This is the result... an army of Apocalypses with Kirovs to eliminate 2 Ore refineries, 1 Power Plant, 1 Dojo and 1 Con Yard  real overkill.
I think I'm ripe to start fighing hard opponents and do compstomp/vs humans games online ;)

:lmao: that is over kill
and yes if u can get that army out before u attack then yes u will be ready to go online XD
But i havent gotten my game yet, so i have played the beta :p, from my beta exp. that is COMPLETELY overkill but hey i must ask did he have any units to stop u :\
but anyway yea that seems to be ok... but i cant say much, because i used to spam rocket angels before a pacth fixed my spam... (which 50 rocket angels in 1.01 and 1. 02 i believe) i had my fun in beating nubs along with the nubs
but when i played soviets :P i was all out navy
here is my tacit for my naval that gave me a 91.5% of winning a macth :P
10 sting rays
10 akulas
and to finish it off
4 to 5 dreadnuts.
i wasnt much of a land user for soviets >.> mainly because i dead very fast that way
allies i cant say to much on i never liked them because it was hard to find the "correct way" to tech up...
now lastly for japans i didnt always spam rocket angels
i made
10 yuri subs (i do believe thats what it is called)
15 sea wings
5 to 8 torrpedos ships
and how ever many shotguns ships i could get out
before i had to counter attack and go in for the kill XD
what do u thing on these?

I should have taken a pic, but I won my first online match on an almost all sea map, don't recall the name, but i had 10 apocs and used tiwinblades to airlift them onto the little piece of land the guy had.
Obviously he wasn't expecting it, and it was an easy victory.

I meant my first victory in the game, not in the beta, can't remember what my first vict.... oh wait yeah I do.
I really just remember the end, akuals blocking off the sea, brought in dread noughs to bombard while Apocs, twinblades, MiGs, and hammers closed in by land, complete overkill.

Obviously we were both totally new. But I was faster.

what i like best is that 2 akula subs can instantly take out any enemy naval yard.

That is indeed great for quick kills. It's useful if you want to surface, destroy and quickly dive before any other unit can come and attack your Akula's.
But Twinblades are the best hit and run unit for the Soviets IMO (especially against the CPU Empire)
