On Thursday I'll be celebrating Thanksgiving Day with family, so I'll take this time to wish all a Happy Thanksgiving or Turkey Day, whatever you may call it. If this is your first visit to planet Earth, Thanksgiving Day is a traditional holiday here in the USA where generally families gather to pig out on da big bird. On Thursday I'll travel to my Mom and Dad's house, which is only about five miles away from where I live. Among the list of goodies will of course be the traditional turkey stuffed with filling, whipped mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, gourmet potatoes (Mom's special recipe), buckets of homemade thick gravy, cranberry sauce, sweet corn (off the cob), lima beans, sugar peas, homemade breads and sticky buns, and of course an assortment of pies including pumpkin pie topped with mountains of fresh whipped cream. For some strange reason, every year a few members of my family fight over who gets to eat the turkey's neck, giblets, liver, and other undesirable parts. All of them...err goodies are place on a special plate called the "Pick Plate". I just sit back and watch the action, as I have never had the desire to go near the pick plate. Anyhoot, those of ya celebrating Thanksgiving...enjoy your day!
