LCD TV's

I've just got a new 26" Samsung LCD tv for my Xbox 360 but when theres fast moving pictures theres a lot of fuzzyness.

Is this normal for LCD TV's or have a got a dud one? :uhh: (Never had an LCD before)

I don't know about that. Samsungs LCDs are generally excellent TVs. Maybe it's normal. I haven't really noticed it with my ps3, but maybe it doesn't bother me enough to make me notice it....:chin:

I've noticed if you sit too close to the TV you can see the fuzz more clearly. If I sit further back I can't see it. It's not very often I notice it actually... I also have a 26" LCD, Just not a samsung.

There doesn't happen to be any manual settings on either the xbox or TV to make sure it's on progressive scan is there? :rockbrow: I wouldn't know since I don't own an xbox with an HDTV to test that out. But the fuzzies may come from it being in one of the "I" modes. You'll want it in a progressive mode. I so don't recall numbers right now or exactly what "I" means... I think interlaced.

I have my 360 hooked up to my 26" Sony LCD using the regular HD AV jacks, not an HDMI cable, and I've experienced no fuzziness. Maybe try using those cables instead?

I had the same problem. I thought my LG crapped out on me as soon as I bought it! There's a solution though.

The 360 naturally defaults to the highest resolution setting possible. It's probably a 720p TV that can do 1080i. Set the xbox display properties to 720p. If that doesn't solve your problem it's probably just the TV.

Same goes for the PS3 if you ever hook one of those up.

Thanks for the tips guys, finally found the problem though. Aparently I had to set the 'entertainment mode' to 'Game' and it got rid of most of the blurryness, woot!

I suggest to everyone that if you have some extra cash laying around, even for a cheap HDMI cable, I suggest getting one. Not for the fuzziness or resolution, but for the color. The color depth is amazing with HDMI compared to Component Cables. I purchased a 10 dollar used one at Gamestop and it makes such a difference.

The only Samsung product i have is my monitor, which has been defective from the start.

My HD tv is a Westing house and my HDMI looks fine.
