I've got myself dune 2000 and Emperor: Battle for Dune and really love those games way more than the tiberium and red alert series and would like to see another one made. any chance of that ever happening?

Wow, seeing this I thought they were actually coming out with one, or it was at least in talks.
Personally I don't think another Dune game is going to come out. Could be wrong but I'm not sure.
That title fooled me too. That's a pity. I personaly do like the universe (i have 2 books on it) and liked Dune2000 and loved Emperor_bfD. It failed in some aspects but it was the true father to modern 3D RTS, not to mention applying the concept of counter-unit in cnc like games, for the first time. Respect to it.

I unfortunately do not own any of the books, but have read the entire main story line starting at the book "Dune" and continued through to the end with books finished and written by Frank Herbert's son. Anyway, I only played the game "Dune 2", but have heard of the other revamps. What I really want to see is a Dune FPS/Roleplay. Just putting in my opinion..
(Huge fan of the Dune series and universe overall..)

It does have some potential tbh. One day it may happen.:chin:

Yeah, seeing the Dune videogame franchise have a revival would be pretty sweet. However, since the game more or less has only one background (Arrakis), the game may end up feeling stale or bland to some players... unless, they plan to make it a game that has a strong focus on it's environment and survival, which might be pretty interesting to work out.

I know EA inherited whatever licenses Westwood had when the takeover happened, but do they even have the Dune license anymore? It seems like it would have expired by now.

Uhg.. The history of the Dune video games is confusing. I did some googling, a bit of read at Wikipedia, and a search with google patents. I found wikipedia most helpful (assuming it's accurate). From what I can tell, there are two separate Dune game series. One game series starts with Westwood's Dune 2. The other starts with Cryo Interactive's Dune. I lost the trail of who ended up with the licence at the end of the two different game series. Here's the wikipedia pages for the last game of each different company. Along with a page listing "all" the Dune games.
