Umm not sure where to start my post, So Hello ^^

Anyways I would like to start making RA3 maps but I'm n00b when it comes to this stuff as Ive never made a custom map or anything for any game before so I was wondering if I could get some help walking through the creation of my first RA3 map.

Instead of starting a bunch of threads for each question I have, I figured I would start 1 thread and just keep posting here and hopefully when I have a complete and working map I can post it here also ^^ If I can learn enough then it wont be my last.

I have watched the videos so I know the basic's for the "look" of the map. And Ive messed around in the map editor to get a feel for it.

So just to get me started Ive only got one question for now.

Lets say I want a map size 400x400
Lets also say it's a map designed for 4 base's

Problem is I want all 4 sides to be exactly alike.

Is there a way to work in one corner of the map and then copy and mirror/flip so all sides of the map have the same terrain? Its near impossible to mirror stuff so everything is identical in each base area. :( To be more specific lets say I made a few hill's and holes in the bottom right corner of the map and wanted those hill's and holes in all 4 corners of the map, How would I do it without having to manually make each hill and hole from scratch?

That's all for now but I will use the answer to make the start of my map and will return often with more questions. I know what I want to make but I don't know exactly how to do it. Hopefully I can learn something from the more experienced map makers here :) There must be a bunch of tips and tricks that you guys can share right? ^^

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi Maz ;)

Yer the Terrain Copy tool in WB does a pretty good job. & you can flip & mirror your selection to suit the other 4 corners of your map. You'll need to practice a few times to get the idea  but one tip is to get in as close as you can to see through the mesh of the copied terrain.
