My body is adjusting to the time change as the clocks here in the USA springed forward one hour this past weekend. I do like the time change and the extended daylight. The winds are howling again in my neck of da woods. On Monday morning I woke up to 50+ MPH winds, with some gusts exceeding 60 MPH. This weekend I took advantage of the nice weather and cleaned up the yard, but the winds are ripping tree limbs down again, so looks like I'll have another clean-up project this week. For the month of February and now March we have had several days where wind gusts reached nearly hurricane force, which is around 74 MPH. We've had windy years in the past, but nothing like we've had lately, least not in my area. I've been to the Atlantic ocean and experienced gale force winds, and that's just about what we're getting now. I'm not a weather expert, but I do know something unusual is going on. Even the old-timers in my neck of da woods say they can't recall it ever being as windy as it has been so far this year. The good news is, the winds bring in a lot of work for me repairing damage to houses in my area. Even in a bad economy, people have to buy the essentials, like food, toilet paper, etc. And if their houses get damaged, they have to fix em up. Fortunately for the majority of folks, their insurance companies foot the bill. Anyhoot, ya'll have a great week!

my poor willow tree, it WAS a monster of a tree, that would shade out the whole yard, sadly that huge windy day back in september nocked the whole top down, unfortunately that wasn't the worst part, the worst part was it was all rotten. Hopefully it'll grow back but if it hadden't fallen when it did i'm sure we'd be having to dig the tree up outta the soft ground if it fell in the winter

plus i hate getting up in the dark now....i mean now school is back to dark 'n' dull

Why do we save daylight in the summer when there is plenty but not in the winter?

Why do we save daylight in the summer when there is plenty but not in the winter?

Probably cause in most parts of the USA it's cold and not that much outside activity...least not compared to summer time.
