View Full Version : Thinking of writing a fan-fic. Does this sound viable?

Hi guys,

I just recently got around to finishing the Campaign for Kane's Wrath, and it's really rekindled my love for C&C, and especially the Brotherhood of Nod. After having gone back and played Tiberian Sun again as well, I have decided that I would like to write a good length fan-fic from the perspective of a Nod soldier during both the Second and Third Tiberium Wars.

Using the Timeline here http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline (http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline)I thought that my main character could be born in 2002, around the time of the Battle of Sarajevo at the end of the First Tiberium War, with his father being killed when GDI fired the Ion Cannon at the Temple. He would then enlist in the Brotherhood sometime in the 2020's, and be a member of Slavik's loyalist faction before the resurfacing of Kane and the beginning of TW2. He would fight in that war, the Firestorm Crisis, and the Third Tiberium War. (Putting him at 50 years old by the time of the Assault on the Rocky Mountains Complex in 2052).

What I would like to know is: does this seem viable?, and would people be interested in reading it?

Cheers,
Kiefer13

Actually, Sarajevo fell around 1995, not 2002 - I wouldn't put too much faith in the C&C wiki, as it has a lot of inaccuracies and 'fannon' on it.

And it better not be another damn Kane/Shepherd yaoi fan-fic:yuck:, or else somebody's gonna die...:gnasher:

Ah, I see. Didn't know that. I guess that'll teach me to cross reference my sources more. Is there anywhere else with a more accurate timeline, or was the BoS date the only discrepancy there?

Also, no worries. There will be none of that. :yuck: *shudders*

Well, none that I can tell, since that was the only part of the storyline you've brought up so far.

But if you want a decent timeline, then you might want to check the CNC Encyclopedia on Planet CNC. Sure, it also has a huge amount of fannon added into it (the whole thing about the Allied Nations turning into GDI is pretty much discontinuity at this point), but they've actually done a good job at noting down all the little details and dates and such for the first three games. It gets weaker in quality once you go into the games after RA2 though, so be warned.
