I wasn't expecting the influx of C&C4 magazine scans for at least a couple more days, but the onlslaught of new pictures and info has already started. You can see magazine scans from the French magazine from several sources on the net, including CNC Saga HERE (http://www.cncsaga.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=5946), and C&C Files HERE (http://commandandconquer.filefront.com/news/First_screenshots_from_PC_Jeux_emerge_interface_included;43029). I'm sure there are more websites that will have em.

I grabbed some of the mag scans. You can see em on the DEN HERE (http://www.cncden.com/cnc4_magscans.shtml)

There's also some info from CNC Saga they posted up. I had to translate it from French to English using babel fish, then translated the translation cause babel fish suks.

-The ground is covered with tiberium and living in these conditions does not seem possible any more. So Kane makes contact with GDI because of the Tiberium contamination, and forms the "Tiberium Network Control" between Nod & GDI, which makes it possible to control the expansion of tiberium and to channel it to make it an infinite and inexpensive energy source. However, the extremists on both GDI and Nod end up starting a war between the two camps. This is where CnC4 starts.
-EA promises better quality of the FMVs for the campaigns.
-Our character plays an important role in the campaign story.
-The Crawler plays a pivitol role and produces all of your units. It is upgradeable, and if you lose your crawler, another will arrive on the battlefield. After your crawler respawns, you can then choose the class of the crawler: offensive, defensive or engineer class.
-Tiberium is collected by refineries and at pre-determined points where you erect your refinery.
-You gain experience points to unlock new technology in both Single Player and Multiplayer.

Yep, this game just keeps sounding worse and worse.

I liked most of the screenshots, especially the ones in the tundra environment. It seems like this game will be a mixture of Tiberian Sun and Tiberium Wars.

As for the experience points, I think think they are talking about the special powers you get in Generals and BFME2.

Experience points will just add to the replay value, ever wonder why RPG's are so popular? It's lot's of fun leveling up a character and unlocking new gameplay additions.

Yeah but we're playing a RTS, not an RPG.

Mech walkers are in, mech walkers are out, mech walkers are in...

Methinks one of the designers is Bi-polar.

You know, back in the day, C&C was about innovative play mechanics and a compelling story.

Now it's about dumbed-down console-port re-hash for the masses.

It still will be a compelling story, at least that is what I am hoping for.
As for innovative, Tiberian Sun was the most innovative out of the (now) 4 I think. Deformable terrain, Ion Storms, lethal tiberium wildlife... It all added to the gameplay mechanics.

Oh well, I hope I can finish the singleplayer faster because of it (no doubt about it :chin:), I want to see the end already.
Guess i'm turning into a casual -what mechanics? do I get to finish it faster like that?- gamer...

That being said, I like the style of the graphics, makes me think of TS. :p
As for the rest... meh.

Tiberian sun is by FAR my favourite game of all time, but it wasn't really that innovative, which is why it wasn't such a great success. Sure the ideas like dynamic lighting, transformable terrain etc were great but weren't implemented as well as they could have been. Despite this, it is still a very fun unique game that didn't dumb itself down for the masses, at least.

i think the experience points system is just stupid. if a new player doesnt know how to play the game, they should just play the campaign and that covers just about everything apart from pvp tactics. so y limit everyone's tech levels to their exp level just because a few noobs cant figure out how to fire an ion cannon even after playing for a year....
im prolly gonna buy the game as soon as it comes out, but for people who buy it late, when they start playing, they're gonna be up against people of a much higher lvl thus get screwed over fighting off tanks rushs with basic infantry just because they havent gotten to a high enough lvl to unlock tnaks yet.....
