I **** you not.
Requested leave for December, was told I'd get it in November, my paperwork never made it to my Platoon Sergeant- let alone to my Commander. So assuming that I didn't have a preferred leave date they scheduled me for the earliest possible time. I found out 4 hours ago that tomorrow I'd start the long journey home.
Once I get back I get to pull 9 more months straight.
**** my life, **** the MP Corp.

How long's your leave? 2-3 weeks at most? Them screwing with the timing sucks man, that takes you out of getting to be with family during the holidays. :(

That really does suck man not being home when you requested, though i guess looking on the upside at least you are getting some leave time. Though I don't know how much of a plus that is.

I think you read it wrong.
Oh, it seems I did. I read "was told I'd get it in November" as meaning thats what you got because they didn't get your paperwork (and didn't notice the topic title, yeah...).
Sucks. :\
At least enjoy your time off with the wife J_t

Well December 28th is my anniversary, that is what I was pushing for. I've calmed down now, just happy to be going home for a bit.
Waiting in Bagram for my flight to Kuwait, and then home.

:chin:Better to have some time off, than none at all for even longer...
Thats what my sister (and more than likely soon enough, Me) is slowly finding out about the Military. Its not about what you want, its about what they need.
That sucks to not get home in December, but at least you get some time now. Maybe do a 5 month early anniversary night? :P

you think working in the military is bad... my lecturer at uni was part of a defense research team and after all the trouble he went to to get the uni to approve a leave, he got red taped by the government from leaving the country due to the fact that the project he was working on was entering critical testing stages cuz they needed all the researchers there incase something went wrong! god he was pissed, and we spent the entire semester hearing him bitch about how he had booked plane tickets and hotels and everything....

Well KO, I feel as though I will feel simultaneously a little more safe, AND a little less safe once you set foot back on American soil
Enjoy the leave man. It's a bitch of a card you've been dealt, but don't let it slow you down one bit. Make the most of every moment.
Safe travels amigo.
