Question: If the Crawler respawns after one minute of being destroyed..how does one win the match??

Just thought I would ask since there is no indication as to winning in CnC4.

You probably get points for holding the objectives or something.

Thats or its deathmatch.

This game seems to be going to far from the roots of C&C. I think EA is making a mistake but only time will tell.

Everytime you kill someone's crawler, you will be given a kill. Everytime you die, you are given a death.

I'm pretty sure that's the deal.

that might actually redeem it a fair bit cuz i've always wondered if you could do FPS style objective based matchs for RTS instead of the typical recycling the same old build order over and over =]

a 5v5 king of the hill match with an RTS could be quite awesome :)

so wait, the crawler RESPAWNS after being destroyed? WHAT THE ****?!?

I know I have always been the one that was like "so what if it deviates from the old CNC, these changes made the game better!" but this is just going too far. This is just not a command and conquer game anymore. Mobile bases, tiberium no longer a resource, your freaking base respawns after being destroyed, etc. etc. I don't care if CNC4 gameplay turns out to be ****ing amazing, I just cannot accept this game as the finale of the great CNC legacy. TBH, this game is turning out to be halo wars to the T.

i dont think their aim is for you to view the crawler as a base. more like a unit deployment hub of sorts. which is prolly why the unit limits will be tied to each crawler, so you could have more units by using more crawlers. this just makes the game more versatile in terms of different gameplay scenarios.

And it would seem that any units you have in the field self-destruct if you switch crawler classes..

I really hope for their sake that EALA can come up with other map objectives other than "grab control of the resource node(s)" or "keep control of zone X as long as possible."

I hope there are other objectives like "Evacuate 20 civilians from and defend the southwest city" as GDI and "Kill the civilians and level the city" as Nod. Or convoy escorts. Or weather an Ion storm for 8 minutes without losing X unit/structure/power grid. Or "steal research Y from enemy scientific facility." Or "find mutant hero Z and do something with them."

that seems more like single player type gameplays since in online play, most players would prolly just attack their opponent ASAP since it would be the most effective way of achieving the objective.
prolly more likely to work with more aggressive gameplays like dm, koth, or maybe even an RTS version of ctf =]

As far as i remember your basic mode for online skirmish is just deathmatch.

Everything else is just additional modes.

Elminating deathmatch is a HUGE mistake.
