Hello everyone this is GettinGwap I have forgotten my old password. I lost my YR game and my laptop broke so I purchased CNC TFD and installed it on my desktop. I used to have YR on here but TFD won't work. It says "FATAL string manager failed to initialize" when I click RA2. When I click YR, it says the disk isn't in. WTF?! Anybody have an answer to this? I tried running it in compatability mode for Windows 98, and I am an administrator. My OS is Windows XP.

You have the disk in, right? If so, and this error still happens, you should reinstall it.

Yeah I tried that and it still didn't work. And of course I have the disk. But it says I don't.

Okay. I got RA2 working but Yuri's Revenge is still not working. Idk what I did to get RA2 to work, but I want to play YR. I reinstalled it, didn't work. All the exe files are running in compatability for Windows 98. Idk what to do now.

Hmm..
You shouldn't need to put it in Windows '98 compatibility mode. Yuri's Revenge and Red Alert 2 are compatible with Windows XP.
This (http://planetcnc.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Other.Detail&id=190) is an unofficial patch for Command & Conquer: The First Decade that fixes a few bugs with some of the games. It should fix your problem (it disables the need for the DVD to be in the drive - don't worry, it's not a NOCD crack, and it is endorsed by EA - in fact, it's based on the 1.02 official patch for C&C:TFD).

Omg thanks man. It worked. It's funny no one mentioned this version of TFD in all the forums I looked in. Thanks again man.
