Story

A droning sound was heard as a sphere-shaped silvery-gray boulder that was the size of four automobiles stacked up on each other. A pair of robotic claws bearing the color of blood clutched the flanks of the metal ball. Inside the ball was an over-oversized cluster of microchips, wires and coding. It was the renegade AI, CABAL, an acronym for Computer Augmented Biologically Assisted Lifeform.

Ever since Kane's death, the AI has gone out of control, showing no sign of this until the GDI - who was as void as the Nod generals themselves - gave the Tacticus to CABAL, who took advantage of it to make his demented army of cyborgs. A treaty was created during the "Tiberian Firestorm," as dubbed by historians way into the future, and the GDI-Nod alliance eventually pounded CABAL all the way to the place he deserved to be - in the junkyard.

Or did he end up where he deserved to be?

A confidential underground railroad, buried 50 miles into the earth, was CABAL's way of escaping the GDI all along. The metal claws deposited the core of CABAL into a gigantic cube on wheels the size of a 3-storey house; it was the same color as the core itself. The red claws released their grip. The ball slipped into the hole, making no sound as it quickly squeezed itself through. An advanced kind of goo - which appeared to be some odd type of molten silver - folded across the hole. It covered the hole entirely, then solidified, turning to the same color of the box. The car then began its journey to its lair.

CABAL had not only found the ability to control Tiberium, but it also had found old Scrin technology, probably retired by the Scrin, yet more advanced than human technology. The 3rd Tiberian War was going to be started...by either CABAL or the Scrin.

The end....for now. ;)

There's the story so far, I hope many people will be part of this RPG. Here are the rules:

You cannot be a hero or a general (your rank can go up to commander though.) But you can be an anti-tank soldier, infantryman, Jumpjet Infantry, Engineer, etc, etc...in fact, you can be any infantryman from any side! (Though I need to give info on the new things in TT though)
Your character must be logically able to fight. For example, would there be a 51-year-old fighting in the GDI in the 2030s? And, you're supposed to be using weapons from this era.

BA, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt on this, but don't you think it may be better to set up a characters thread and some background (for instance, while you may know what the weapondry of the 2030s is I sure as heck don't), before launching into the full-blown RPG? This looks suspiciously like a story thread, and IMHO it would probably be better to get organised beforehands.

It's a cross between the two. Don't worry, I'll manage. You take care of yourself VO, and I'll take care of myself. If I need tips, I'll PM you. ;)

Side Description

Global Defense Initiative:

The GDI is now using the Tacticus to slowly rid the entire world of the Tiberium plague. Weapons have advanced drastically; the GDI using things like nanotechnology and advanced genetic-engineering (the U.N. removed the ban) to help their vehicles and men on the battlefield. Scientists also have taken Tiberium samples and reset the DNA, causing it to act this way: reverse the Tiberium gas and any mutated creatures to their original state, then die off when it returns to normal. But there are signs of cocoon-shaped spaceships - appearing to contain some highly-advanced weapons capable of anniliating entire continents - approximately 1.5 light-years from earth. While a light year is about 5,865,696,000,000 miles, this still terrible news. The Scrin have come to claim humankind's home: Planet Earth. The Brotherhood of NOD seems to be straying away from the treaty and regrouping. Kane has been revitalized. A secret tunnel has been found, once closed away by a 100-inch door of reinforced titanium in CABAL's core. The Forgotten are getting paranoid and are starting to create weapons of their own. Solomon has retired. McNeil is under immense amounts of stress. Why is he? Because he knows the worst is on the way. The greatest of all wars is coming...the Third Tiberian War.

The Brotherhood of NOD

General Anton Slavik has finally rallied all the Nod generals and Kane: whose metal plate covering one side of his face turns out to contain a chip that gives him the ability to put Cabal under his control. It broke when McNeil drove the metal-girder through his body. When Kane awoke, he realized this and managed to break out, escaping Cabal's demented pod-like prison. He also figured that Cabal was sucking knowledge out of his brain and copying it into his (Cabal's) own harddrive and softdrive. After escaping Cyborg Commandoes and escaping from tanks derived of Scrin technology, upgraded Nod tank designs and robotics, he met up with Slavik via telephone. Slavik had sent a helicopter to fetch Kane and within moments the Brotherhood was whole again. The discovery of the new GDI anti-Tiberium chemical coded Agent Blue from Nod spies have angered Kane. This could ruin the Tiberium future. And Kane wants to keep Tiberium world and "the evolved human race" to himself, not the Scrin (also included in the spy reports.) He also wants to destroy Cabal for the AI's treachery and capture every single soldier of the Forgotten. Will the Brotherhood rise to victory at last?

CABAL

CABAL himself is angry at Kane's escape. His hatred for anything organic has deepened all the way to the realms of hell. His idea of a cyborg-only world has made him work on more kinds of demented creations make Kane look like a person with a mild case of madness. He wants to capture everything in the universe and turn them into Cyborgs. And he knows the Scrin's technology will help him....will his rampage ever end and will he be turned into scrap metal?

The Forgotten

Ever since the death of Tratos, Umagon has taken place of their fallen leader. Paranoid with the coming of the Scrin, Umagon and the rest of the Forgotten have dropped off the deep end. She has ordered the capturing of 20-year-old military factories and the research into weapons. She has decided that she will die taking down most of the Scrin - she has created a super-nuclear bomb that is enough to blow up seven-eighths of the world - will the GDI be able to convince her there's still hope and help the GDI crush Nod, Cabal and the Scrin?

The Scrin

The Scrin's original home's core has stopped rotating, and unfortunately they never noticed it till it was too late. A gravitational failure has occured, causing Scrinoids to fly off into space and their advanced satellites to reenter as crunchy crisps of molten metal. They tried to use a nuclear-bomb to reactivate the core, but unfortunately the core was too hot for the ship to take, incinerating the brave Scrinoid scientists like burnt chicken. They finally choose to develop artificial gravity generators, giving them time to build a cannon that fired a gargantuan dose of Tiberium (known to them as Terraneferium (pronunced as Te-RA-na-EF-re-UM)) onto a passing meteorite going at light-speed. The Tiberium-coated meteorite was heading for Earth. The Scrin knew that from captured animals from a variety of different planets that the hybrid mineral-plant Tiberium, which was commonly found on their own planet, was toxic and turned anything carbon-based and organic: into one of their own kind. After that, they took all of their race and trained them for battle while the gravitational generators did their work which would last 10-20 years...the same amount of time it took for Tiberium to terraform the planet. Now that the Scrin are in their spaceships on their way to crush the remaining Earthlings and hammer rogue AI Cabal to pieces, the only question remains....will Earth belong to them?

Note: The unmentioned units from Tiberian Sun still exist in this war, but they haven't changed one bit. The new toys replace the old ones.
M16ATAAX "Excalibur" Supergun
The latest in weaponry, the Excalibur is the perfect weapon for the best of the best soldier in the world, the GDI's standard soldier, the Champion. A half pulse auto-rifle and a half rocket launcher, it eliminates the need for a light infantry class and an anti-tank infantry class.
Model-0029 Sniper "Specter" Rifle
Used by the stealth GDI snipers, coded as "Specters," whose ability to use a single bullet to the head then suddenly disappear like ghosts. The rifle they use is without a silencer - they don't need it, as they're the masters of disappearance.
C4X (Plastic Explosive)
The deadliest and most destructive C4 ever made, this bomb can take out an entire building in one go, no matter how strong its walls are made out of. Used by the Elite Guardians, the highest division in the one-world army GDI.
M480B Portable Railgun
The GDI Elite Guardians have the highly destructive M480B Portable Railgun as their prized weapon. Capable of anniliating half a division of any kind in a single blow, this gun has some drawbacks: it has a long reload time, and if hit, it can explode with grim devastation.
X66X Mammoth Tank
Due to massive demand from Commanders and a few one-star generals, this old beast from the First Red War has returned. They've lightened it so that it won't sink into Tiberium like its predeccessors and made it run on cost-efficient, electric engine derived from Tesla's unused concepts. But in doing so, they had to remove the AA missile packs on its turret, so that they could blow the money on speed.
CT-89 "Super" Orca Transport
The GDI always wanted a transport capable of carrying both infantry and vehicles. This is the answer. Made from a Dropship chassis, this thing may not be as fast as the older Orca Carryall, yet better safe than sorry.
APC-7810 GDI Otter
An improved version of the older Amphibious Transport, it now has a dual machine-gun turret to fend itself off better than before.
Mammoth Mark II
Now widely produced, this behemoth is still insanely destructive, yet it seems like the Scrin's weapons dwarf this destroyer....
Mammoth X
Deadliest mech humankind ever made, and a trillion times more horrible than its older brother, the Mammoth Mark II. This devilish monstrousity has four pairs of railguns (they shrunk them to allow turn them to turn) : one on its chin, two on the back back of the legs. It is capable of sending a single ICBM that splits up into 250 cruise missiles, allowing it to weaken defenses in a wide radius before storming through and cleaning house. Complete with AA missile turrets; this thing is able to destroy entire cities, armies and perhaps an entire continent. It's still a prototype, and it's in some testing facility at an unknown location...
Hover Juggernaut
An MRLS swapping missiles for three cannons like the older Juggernaut, this thing has a better chance of survivability as its faster than its predeccessor.
White Orca
The GDI's latest and best VTOL subsonic aircraft, the Orca can act like a helicopter and support the GDI tank divisions, or act like a 20th Century fighter-bomber. Armed with the new Dragoon computer-guided missiles and the Demolisher bombs and dual Vulcan cannons, the White Orca is a formidable force to all sides.
M16 Mark II
Though slightly outdated, this Nod weapon is still used by the newly renamed light infantry class, the Scorpion class. The Scorpions, though lacking armor, they make it with speed.
ATAA-9088 Super Stinger
Developed by Nod scientists, this plasma cannon has replaced the older rocket launcher, which turned out not to be effective enough to wear down the advancing wall of enemy mechanized units. This weapon has the ability to crack armor much more easier and is capable of downing aircraft (though not as accurate as the Excalibur.) Used by the AT/AA class Bane Troopers.
Tiberian Hoser
Weapon used by Nod Tiberium Soldiers, this weapon is a horrible device that makes the soldier who encountered it wish he was shot by a normal gun instead. Has a chance of mutating the soldier into a Tiberium mutation though....
Scorpion's Sting
Used by Black Hand commandoes, this weapon is a half-sniper rifle and a half-machine-gun. Highly deadly and efficient.
NOD Tick Tank Mark II
The Tick Tank Mark II is only different in terms of firepower: Kane has decided to mount two cannons on its turret instead of one, retaining the speed it has and the burrowing ability.
NOD Devil's Tongue Mark II (AKA Flame Tank)
A difference: better armor and speed, also with a sleeker look. With a streamlined body derived from the Medium Tank and a gigantic flame-throwing platform, this anti-infantry unit is armed and dangerous.
NOD Nymph
The successor to the Harpy, this unit acts like the RAH-66 Comanche.
NOD Super Banshee
The Super Banshee is Nod's latest creation in their air force. It fries most aircraft like a hot knife through butter using its dual plasma cannons, and it drops highly-explosive Tiberium bombs.
CABAL Damage Tank
The Damage Tank is a tank derived from Stealth Tank designs and anti-tank cannons, primed for maximum damage. Like the other CABAL units, this unit has its own artificial intelligence in it.
CABAL Cyborg Wasp
A VTOL jet, this unit is derived from the ancient Harrier design, is the multirole fighter for CABAL.
CABAL Meta-Ock
The Meta-Ock is a giant vehicle that replaces the Cyborg Reaper. It looks like some UFO body with four mechanical legs on. With fearsome, robotic red eyes and a group of Hydra-like tentacles from its "mouth", this vehicles grabs a soldier and brings the poor soldiers to the Cyborg Facility. This unit is highly armored and very dangerous, soldiers might want to approach this vehicle with heavy weaponry.
CABAL Obelisk of Divinity
Appearing to be a gigantic scorpion, this unit is the counter to the Scrin Primal and the GDI Mammoth Mark III. With gigantic claws made of a mysterious, nearly indestructable alloy and a powerful laser "stinger", this unit can vaporize anything less powerful than the Scrin Primal and the GDI Mammoth Mark III.
CABAL Floating Disc
The Floating Disc was derived from Yuri's Floating Disc, which came from Yuri's Psychic Corps. Converted to a transport, this unit hovers quickly and efficiently.
Forgotten 9mm Pistol
Ancient yet efficient.
Forgotten AK-47
An assault rifle from the 20th Century; this gun may be old, yet it's still effective thanks to arms dealers who kept them well-preserved.
Forgotten Gattling Gun
Derived from the former USSR, this weapon is primed to down enemy aircraft. Though weak, the longer it fires, the stronger it becomes.
Forgotten "Rusty" Railgun
Though not as efficient as the newer GDI model, this bad-ass toy is still highly destructive.
Forgotten M60A3
An ancient American tank, this unit serves as the Forgotten's light tank divisions. While horrible against the GDI's tanks, it uses speed to try and dodge their guns.
Forgotten Ariete Battle Tank
An ancient heavy tank used by the Forgotten, this unit poses a heavy challenge to even the toughest of tank commanders. The Scrin seem to fear it somewhat.
Forgotten Shadow
The Shadow was a recon-unit used by the Americans in the late 20th Century and the early 20th Century. Now adopted by the Forgotten, this unit serves as a scout, an anti-infantry unit and an anti-air unit thanks to the Javelin launcher on top.
Forgotten Hind
Used by the Russians in the First Red War, this unit has been revived. Though competent as a support chopper or an aerial troop transport, this unit can be easily downed by a quick blast from a rocket launcher.
Forgotten Harrier
Used by the Allies as the multirole jet from the Second Red War, this unit has been brought back. It's hard for the Forgotten to achieve air supremacy, as this unit is about 40 years out of date.
Scrin Plasma Gun
An advanced plasma gun which fires blue plasma beams, this unit is highly effective on infantry that do not have special armor to repel this deadly weapon's blasts.
Scrin Plasma Chain Gun
More horrible than the Plasma Gun, this thing can kill three dozens of soldiers in one shot. Highly effective on aircraft.
Scrin Tiberium Cannon
Deadly against tanks, buildings, infantry and aerial units, this cannon is a miniatuare version of a siege weapon. Filled with shells that are tipped with highly toxic, red Tiberium, this cannon can decimate an entire garrisoned structure in one blast, killing all the troops inside and demolishing the entire building.
Scrin Spacebomb Radio
Used like a 20th Century airstrike radio, this thing calls devastating rays to be shot from Scrin ships in orbit. Guaranteed destruction.
Scrin Hover Tank
The Scrin Hover Tank is enough to best the GDI Mammoth, because of its plasma cannons and its hovering ability. But beware! If stolen, this vehicle is just as formidable against the enemy as it is to yourself.
Scrin Disease
A little robotic cannon that appears to be an ancient man-made flamethrower, this thing is designed to mutate humans (and other carbon-based life forms) into Super Visceroids...beware! The brain of a Super Visceroid is unstable, so it may attack you.
Scrin Primal
The Primal looks like Godzilla come to life. While not technically a vehicle, you can ride it like a horse and make it destroy enemy units with its deadly "Tiberiumbreath" and Ray Beam.
Scrin Scythian
The Scythian is the latest in the Scythian line of fighter-bombers. What Nod took was the Scythian Mark II, which they called the "Banshee," and made it into their own version. Deadly and efficient.

Personality: Calm, patient, slow to anger and cool in difficult situations

Rank: Private

Class: Sniper

Associates: Not many. He prefers to be left alone. He will talk to people, but he's not very social.

Side: GDI

Bio: Alexander aced every training mission he was set with, and at the age of 24 was offered a position in Special Forces. He turned it down, prefering instead to stay among the people he knew well:the grunts. His father taught him many types of martial arts, Tai Chi the one he put most emphasis on. As a result, Alexander is adapt at hand to hand fighting. When not fighting, he often uses Tai Chi as a medium, to let him relax and unwind.

It was the renegade AI, CABAL, an acronym for Computer Augmented Biologically Assisted Lifeform.
Actually, that's "Computer Assisted Biologically Augmented Lifeform" :p

McNeil is under immense amounts of stress.
I don't think so... seeing as he's dead :p

Remember Firestorm? The crashed Kodiak? They said there were no survivors. And McNeil was in there, since it was his command ship.

No he didn't. The temple collapsed on him, but he escaped. Badly wounded though... as you see in TS. The metal on his face.

But unlike McNeil he had a reason to be disappear. GDI would've found him if he was still alive.

Hmmmm...

I'd might join this BA, but I have no idea what kind of writing I'm meant to be doing - this is third person, past tense, like everything else, right?

Also, how do you intend to handle player vs player situations? I want to be a NOD agent, but that would leave me out of the loop of the other characters unless I'm fighting them. You've explained the OVERALL storyline very well, but there doesn't seem to be much of a setting for the RPG to take place in - is this actually going to be as open-ended as it seems?

They didn't specify who died and who survived.
The briefing movie said "pick up any possible survivors". Seeing as you don't pick up anyone at the site, there must be no survivors

Though you hear an angry voice yelling when the video feed is lost a while before that... and that voice (the commander - you) might be McNeil.
