This is most likely to be my second attempt to make an RPG here, at the Den. Hope this time i don't scratch my balls and leave it forgotten.

A little of History... (made up, of course):
In the meridian of the 21st Century, the american colossus was barely standing in the top of the world's society, economy and politics. The petrol crisis of the 2024, sucessfully solved by the invention of Fusion Plants,the consolidation of both Europe and China as powerful factions was slowly, but steadily, pushing US out of its golden, dreamed throne of global control. Only the assimilation of Japan by the newly formed New Age Chinese Empire (N.A.C.E.) seemed to put a temporal patch for the giant's power bleeding, and the commercial relationships with the military tech greedy chinese helped the US to keep at bay the European Eagle, and the Chinese Dragon, out of his back.
Meanwhile, in the shadows, in the lowest extreme of the global situation, the third world's poverty stretched even more the bonds of oppression that the West Axis (mainly, US and Europe) had maintained for years. What is more, the NACE put his own bonds too.
However, by a twist of fate, in the year 2054, an event changed the world's History forever.
The first skirmish with the Reapers. "Reapers", extraterrestrial beings, of hostile nature.They were named "reapers" because of their pin point, swift attacks...that left no resistance.
In a matter of hours, 48 to be more exactly, the Reapers systematically eliminated what they had assumed as the most powerful military in the Earth. The entire military forces of US. And so, the hammer fell, and US was turn out to be a smoking pile of axes, while the aliens were preparing a mass ground intervention, using the smoldering ruins of the States as the gate to Earth's conquest...
However, not all the US forces were massacred. Several remained. Outnumbered, and conscious of the great disasters they took a resolution.
Detonate all their warheads, in the most powerful holocaust mankind inflicted.
They killed theirselves, they killed their country, but saved the rest of mankind. Ironically, this inesperated suicide shook the aliens a great loss. Overconfident as they were, they didn't expect that a single action would wipe half of their troops. Furthermore, the burst of North American empire (and never better said), helped the other two rising world powers, UnE (united Europe) and NACE, to even develop furtheir their might, as UnE found that the fair trade with South and Central America, so close culturally, enriched it in a way it had never been before, and thus the Atlantic Coallition of Free Trade (ACFT) was born. On the other hand,the NACE snatched a new ally: Australia. Formelly with the US, after its dissaparition, Australia was willing to ally another world power. The chinese, feeded with the hi-tech knowledge of the conquered Japan, turned Australia in the biggest Space Tech complex that ever existed.
However, the Reapers were still there, orbiting... hampering mankind's efforts to reach the outer space. Watching... and learning the weak points.
Eventually, such weaknesses were found, and in the Winter of the same year US was reduced to ashes, landings of the Reapers happened in Africa. Reapers had seen there perfect meatgrinder mercenaries, willing to cooperate with the aliens to attain a better lifestyle, from the spoils of war.
The advanced biotechnology of the reapers, feeded with the zeal of the africans, forged an army of human-based drones wich could stand up against the resistant and threating combined forces of both ACFT and NACE.
And so, bestially and grotesque mutated humans, alien spawns charged against the clear and powerful nanoenhacements, threatening warmachines, artificial lifeforms, and the very own human biotechnology.
In the year 2104, the war's fires are still burning. The days of war stretch towards the infinity, while both factions grit their teeth... to kill eachother. Like 50 years ago.
Current world Situation (Where the beef is!)
During the last 50 years the ACFT and NACE have faced defeat after defeat, until the territories who could claim that are free of the Reaper invasion are Greenland, Iceland, Australia and the Antartica. The isolation of the two factions is almost complete: Australochinese, the last remnants of the NACE and the North-Romans, formerly the ACFT are only comunnicated by the occasional, and often suicidal report missions, and the Hope Channel, a range of highly encoded radio frequencies,that the Reapers have not deciphered yet...
In this dark hour, Humanity seems only one viable solution to resist the inevitable: forgive all diferences. And stick together.
The money as it was once, lost its status, encouraged by the martial spirit of the war. Practically no one on the free world relies on money. Greed as such has almost been wiped out, as greedy people were the first victims of the second Reaper onslaught.
The tech advancements have been revolutionary, as in times of crisis, the I+D experiments a significant boost. People knows, more than ever, how to play God with nature and technology... Nano-technology, a full knowledge of the DNA secrets, and the improvement on AI are the newest rage. As odd as it might be, the space travel is off limits. The Reapers OWN the space. And only the Australian space installation seem to have a minimal reckon capacity.
As for the conventional, good ol military researchs, the advancements in Electronics and Physics make feats like the Laser Rifle,optic camouflage, and the non- radiactive Nuclear Bombs (NRNB). Still, old nukes are preserved... just as always.
Paired with biotechnology, medicine is also advanced. People knows how to treat everything... but death itself. Prostetic limbs and mechanical enhacements have been long ditched, since the technology allows both to regrow limbs and enhace people with nano-machines.
The robotics advancement is great, and now, artificial AI based constructs, wich resemble humans; the androids are possible. They are a step further than the cyborg, wich are usually remote controlled by humans, like tools. Cyborgs are thus, best used for heavy duty . Some people claims to say they are walking tanks.
On the other side, the humans who have been submitted under the orders of the Reapers,are forced to live slave's life, not being actually conscius of such situation, believing to live in societies that are only a poor copy, a mockery of humans ones, conveniently altered to fit the alien's interests.
Archetypes( meet your neightbours!)
Human: Plain and simple, ol Joe. However during recent times, the onslaught of the Reapers has forced humanity to be resourceful in extreme. Also humans are pretty much the only ones who can develop psychic abilities. Free humans have resistance to mind control while human drones are completely susceptible to it
Nanobots: Hybrid of human-machine, shares the sturdiness of robots, with the self-reconstructing nature of biological beings. Focused on combat jobs, they have almost no emotions, plus they don't age and can't procreate.Psychic powers are also off their hands. They show a really HIGH resistance to mind control and biological contamination. Shame they share both android and human weaknesses. A simple intervention turns a human in a nanobot.
Android:Basically a highly advanced AI with a mechanical interface of interaction (limbs and human body to you and me) with the world. They are INMUNE to mind control, biological weapons, and have a degree of resistance towards radiation plus the sturdiness of inorganic constructs.Shame that their AI can still be hacked, they are vulnerable to EMP, and they need to be repaired once injuried.
Cyborgs and AI's aren't playable archetypes, because the first are mindless toys and the seconds have no body. and Cyborg+AI = super uber android.(wich i won't allow).
Foes. (meet future corpses!)
Hived humans(AKA Human drones): Not much to say. Plainly Peter, but Peter can be handled through psi waves like a dull sheep. These aren't much of a threat... but be careful, there is bound to be lots of them! They can be your allies too, if handled correctly. Sometimes people can be extracted out of the psi slavery by neurosurgery.
Assimilated humans: Unlike hived ones, assimilated humans are under direct control of the aliens, and often were free people. Due to the mental insanity and psychotic tendences product of the assimilation trauma, this technique is not used frequently, as most people is hived. Assimilation has no cure. It's better to waste them, even if they were your mates once.
Breeders: Biotechnologically enhaced beings of different species (often extraterrestrial beings) that are the equivalent of working and combat robots in the free world. It is rumoured that they are submitted through a similar system than hived humans, however the lack on anatomical information and the degree of mutation in most of the cases makes impossible a recovery.
Reapers: The bastards. They look like the typical gray big headed man. ALL of them have psychic powers,and are more sturdy and powerful than humans. Often seen in an insectoid combat exosuit.
(Breeders is an extensive classification, so i'll make a special briefing about them).
Hint: I'm still open to suggestions.
Sightseeing Tour
North America: Pretty much a nuclear wasteland. It's a neutral territory nobody claims, thus is often used by both the Reapers and the Free humans to test their armamentistic researchs.
South America: Once an stronghold of biotechnology of free people, the Reapers have turned it out to be a natural enclave where they can mass produce with their bio-factories, to feed the whole world.
Asia: Mainly inhabited, the recently acquired China and Japan by the reapers prove them a focus for their pseudocivilization. It is said that it's the largest inhabited colony of Hived Humans, after Africa.Rumours said there's a secondary spaceport here, besides from the african one.
Africa: Where it started, the top of their civilization. The whole africa doesn't lack neither in extension nor in resources, and thus both powerful bio-industry (second to South america) and big cities with a high concentration of Reaper population coexist. Where the main spaceport (the gate to this world) is located.
Europe (hived): THe smoldering ruins of Europe serve majorly to those pariah who couldn't fit anywhere else. Here, security is REALLY low, and thus it's possible for free people to infiltrate, and even rescue hived people.
Note: The main languages that can be heard in these areas are both english and arabic.
Europe(free) and North Pole: The last stronghold of the once powerful ACFT, now turned into a semi-militar populated area where almost all citizens serve under a martial discipline, and thus, money shines for the lack of it. It's currently ruled by Caesars (military-like leaders) with a 20 year time of government. Caesars are elected by senators. The preffered language is Neo-Latin, although is not uncommon for people to speak English (as it helps to blend in possible infiltrations and helps trade with the Australochinese).
Oceany(hived): The majority of the islands are under Reaper Control, wich they use to develop underwater bio-technology
Oceany (free): Australia and New Zealand are the other big stronghold of the free people. Ruled by the Chinese Shinryu emperor lineage, Australia proves to be the only viable possibility of humanity to develop a space-scale militar base. It's also the place where hi-tech androids are crafted. It's fiercely protected by NZ armada, the biggest fleet of the free world.
The languages spoken here are both english and Chinese.
Antartica: The inmaculated continent. Practically no men nor Reaper have ventured here. A mist of legend and chimaera seems to cover it's true nature...

This has huge potential, CKW. The background you've provided is an original and creative approach to the 'Alien invasion' genre. With some 'character creation' details, this could go places. The question, however, is whether this is the right time to be promoting an RPG with S0, WOC, SSR, and that Tiberian Sun RPG all vying for the spotlight. Methinks a priority cue of sorts should be produced by the RPG mods (VO and the Wes-ster), with each RPG getting its own 15 minutes of fame. I'm going to hop aboard this wagon once it gets rolling, count me in.

Maybe there should be a set number of people that need to be interested to keep the RPG going. And if said RPG goes below set number of people, then the RPG should be put into stasis until intrest is regained.

Ok, since the queue (sp?) of rping is almost settled, i'll continue to add information, leaving the character sheet as last part so that it won't make a conflict of interests.
Lifesavers (gunz gunz gunz!!!!)
The war machines in early twenty- second centry still have reminiscences of the wars of twentieth century, if given a more than logical evolution towards technology and economy of own casualties. However, the classic nuclear power, the very mass destruction weapon of mankind, is still present in its late incarnation. Facing enemies that are unlike humans in several ways, and humanity may have changed the ways people harm their enemies, but the strategies remain pretty much the same, and thus, weapons obey that pattern.
This is a small summary of the advanced weaponry free people have. Hived people rely more on bio-technology rather than conventional
Plasma is your friend. Extra crispy is its surname.
The development on high temperature research and thermal-shock resistant materials, influenced by the discovery of Fusion reactors (practically mini-Suns) has evolved explosive an incendiary weapons. In other times, the key to those weapons was a sudden low-temperature combustion, in the present, such combustion has been optimized until the point the extremely hot gases turn into a mess of ions (the so-called plasma) wich are greatly damaging both by heat, and electromagnetic interactions.
Hence, there's no thing as grenades, flamethrowers or conventional rocketlaunchers. The plasma grenades, plasma sprayers and plasma rockets have outdated such weapons. (not to mention the plasma explosives!).
Lazers! Lazers! Lazers!
The newborn laser armament of twenty-first century experimented a boost, until the point now lasers are not only able to be used as weapons, but also fired in short bursts. Practically, laser bursts have outdated bullets, as their armor piercing and heat-damaging capabilities are suited for most situations.
Most laser operate in the visible EM spectrum, though it's believed that some secret weapons that operate in other frequencies (like high frequency radiation cannons AKA rad-guns, or Microwave guns, AKA "boilers").
Sonic Weapons
These have been a recent development on warfare. The sonic waves allows people to dismantle and greatly damage stuff with concussion without the need of a conventional explosion. Due to the mechanical nature of sound, Sonic weapons only work on close ranges, and unlike plasma weaponry, don't work on vacuum at all.
...yet the classics don't die
That's it. Even with the laser and plasma, melee and bullet weapons resign to die. In it's latest incarnation, the railgun, the solid projectile weapons are still lousy, yet highly piercing in the extreme. The railgun system not only makes the bullets be still the most viable option to sniper-like weapons, and projectile based artillary; but also allows it to fire in conditions the outdated guns won't fire (like underwater or vacuum).
The meele weapons are a relic from the past, yet the versatility of the combat knifes for non-combat purposes is still a good reason to have one of these. The advancement on technology has implemented a segmented replace system wich allows the knifes to have more than one blade. Simply, the blade sprouts again if it's broken by pressing a button in the hilt.

Oh, you mean the story for the chapters. Yes i do have. But i'll post it after the character sheet. There are more things to be described before.
The big players.
In each society there are people who pull strings from the top. This isn't an exception.
Emperor ShinRyu: A cult and refined old man, the Chinese emperor has witnessed how the post-cold war China, arrrogant, ruthless and vengeful, built an empired based on its military power, yet on its arrogance, it entered in a fight he couldn't win: against Reapers. Now, exiled in Australia, the Emperor has started to rebuild the remnants of his empire from the inside, in the last attempt to stand against the onslaught, and give it back the glory of the Ming Dinasty... perhaps it's a vain dream, perhaps not.
Shashia:This green haired android is the Emperor's counselour. Shasha was crafted as a surrender tribute from Japan to the Chinese Emperor. She would be willing to destroy the Empire, if it wasn't by the humilty and the good intentions of the current Emperor, wich is more than willingly to repair the wounds that CHina made in the past with its cruelty. She is believed to be the best hacker in the world.
Caesar Lumina: The first woman Caesar in the human history, Lumina is a charismatic and gentle leader for the masses, yet a ruthless and cold thinker for the schematics. She has been nicknamed the "Iron Lady" by it's forces.
General Elthon "Sparks" Cassidy:One of the most experienced men in combat against the "Reapers" General Elthon may not be the brightest apple in the basket...but it's perseverance and efficiency have never put the military forces to shame. He's rumoured he drinks a lot, now that he's retired from active service as a combat pilot, but rumours are rumours... right?
Captain Cain Patrick Smith:If there's someone who can question both the Emperor and the Caesar directly and not be afraid of their punishment, that is Cain. Nobody knows exactly where he comes from. He just smiles and say "I'm from Earth, and you". He has turned the tide on Humanity`s side in countless ocassions. War Hero, torch of virtue in this dark hour, both allies and enemies know how great is his person. Yet few people know the dark side of Cain: a visceral hatred towards Reapers, almost in the limits on the insane: He's a man tortured by many demons.
Lilith: A mysterious pressence over the Hope channel. No one has been able to track her/him down. But one thing is clear: s/he shares the aversion towards reapers. Rumours says s/he has hacked the channel, but that would put him/her in a better position than Shashia, wich is really hard to believe.
ABEL: The Alien Bureau of Earth Lawkeeping, the congregation of the Reapers that rule the world. His main base is rumoured to be one of the orbital ships, and its secret agents spread everywhere.Nobody knows how they think, and whose personality are, after all, they are reapers.
Welcome Citizen, to the Meritocratic world
Basically, after the failure of Marxism, and the capitalism system being the main cause of the second Reaper onslaught, new times needed new methods, or an approach of view that rare times had been put into practice:
Meritocracy.
First of all, forget about money. There's not money to buy. You just have assigned a resource top for reference. It's imposed by law, and only REALLY good justifications can explain breaking the law.
Second: It's not money what gives power to people. It's their performance in their skill. The measurement of the skill degree has been implemented by the "Mint" rank system, invented by Dr Charles H. Mint halfway through 21st century. The rank determines also your responsability and availability of resources. Higher ranks get higher resources, but also take higher risks and responsabilities.
Third: Inheritage is only acceptable for familiar belongings. As money is gone, the way to assure the position and wealth of descendants has been long gone: Descendants of a high rank have equal chances than descendants of an average. Rank is NEVER inherited, except in the case of the Chinese Emperor.
Fourth: Ranks are periodically revised, so don't drop your work rate, or you will be degradated. The free world has no need in lazy people.
The Mint System
Basically, it's an effective way of determining the performance of an indivual in its chosen field of action. Since it combines both experience, and innate qualities, it's possible for people who initially are E or F, to become C throughout time, and viceversa.
THe Mint scale, or rank system takes the scale from the old scholar system, if a bit modified.
This is the standard rank system for every people in the free world. Still, militar factions keep their rank system, but that's more likely to fade out as it's easy to fit different degree equivalences of the Mint scale to the rank.
For an indivual's performance in a determined field of work, the mint system goes basically like this.
(hint: The added employee things are for comparative stuff).
F= Lower than average. (bum employee)
E= Average.(employee)
D= Slightly higher than average.(efficient employee)
C= Clearly higher than average.(Employee of the month).
B= Especially gifted. (Wonder-Boy Employee).
A= Genius (Employee who knows more than the big bosses).

Major Toys
Eventually, given the militar character of this age, you'll come across this stuff. Civilian vehicles are scarce, and pretty much restricted to the land theater. It's not uncommon to see civilian choppers in the cities, however outside safe Free world perimeters, these choppers are banned. In the land term, the cars and trucks are electrolitic ones, if made of the highly volatile yet abundant Hydrogen. Fossil fuels haved been ditched long ago, or are in the hands of the Reapers.
In terms of military might, the edges of the free world are the Navy and the Air & Space Forces. Land forces are scarce, if nearly extincted. All forces have experimented the same tech replacement pattern: machineguns by laser, explosives by plasma, and single shot ballistic weaponry by railguns.
Tanks commonly sport plasma shells, fired with railguns, and laser, and their plates have evolved according to the actual times. Tanks usually sport electrolitic cells,and the bigger ones, Fusion reactors.
There are two basical models of tank, the "scout", wich is sorta like a light tank with decent punch and high maneuver,single barrel, designed more as a support force, and the "Heavy Assault" wich is a force to reckon on its own. Often slow and heavy armored, these vehicles not only pack dual massive plasma shell railguns, they pack AA Laser Bursts And Plasma LtASM (land to air or space missile).
The "scout" variant is also produced by the Navy, modified to suit the role of a hover turret. The "Heavy Assault" is only produced by the Australochinese.
The Air Forces, better developed than the land, are quite battered and scarce, due to the space supremacy of the Reapers. However, Free world has still aces.
First of these is the sturdy, mass produced Dragonlet Fighter. A multipurpose fighter wich can either take off in a vertical position, like a rocket, or the usual 20th century method, this aircraft isn't capable of VTOL, however, being able to take off like a rocket supplies somehow this. The sturdiness, speed and numbers of this fighter are its best, while maneuvers and his lack of stealth technology are its worst. There's rumoured that a modified version of this fighter can fight in vacuum and space. They are usually produced by the Australochinese, although it's not uncommon to see them around in the free world.
Proteus fighter might be the weakest fighter of the forces, but it's special build makes it suitable for covert ops. Entirely built as a nanomachine hive, this fighter can take plenty of forms, from a wing-shaped fighter to a hover tank, passing as a civilian vehicle, and even as a rock. All forms have the common trait of a vectorial hydrogen jet engine, and laser bursts, and Plasma orbs that are either launched with a railgun built, or are sent with part of the nanomachines in a guided missile configuration. The special ability of this fighter makes it very vulnerable to EMP, and extreme conditions, like heat, vacuum, radiation and everything that isn't speed damage. These fighters sport also a round cockpit, wich acts as the nucleum that handles the nanomachines.
Third is Hades aircraft brand, capable of radar and optic stealth, VTOL. They are rare to see, and are often used as long distance transports rather than fighters. They can provide quite a punch however, and used in combinations with Dragonlets, are lethal.
The last, but not the worst, is the Spectre helicopter genre. Like Hades, it has many variants... Most often are anti-vehicle and transport variants. These babies behave like choppers, with their usual traits. However, the nature of the Electrolitic motor makes this chopper be truly invisible to radar, thermal, optic and echolocation. Nothing can track them down, except psi scans, due to the fact they require a pilot to be truly invisible by electromagnetic means.
Major Toys (II)- The Navy
Being possibly the only real asset of Free World, the FW Navy is possibly the only major force that Reapers have to reckon with. From Submarines to massive Battleships, from High Depth tranports to sleek destroyers, the warships of the humans are hard bones to chew. Yet the advantage remains once again in the Reaper's hands, heavily outnumbering the forces.
Gunships
The ships that were designed to use slug-based weapons, although there might be exceptions.
First of all there's the ligh frigate, also known as the sea flea for its lack of firepower and armor, due to its scout function. Usually sports a double barreled cannon similar to Heavy Assault tanks, and a light Laser gun to provide a precarious AA and Anti Personnel defence.
The sea Destroyer, originally designed to hunt torpedo-based ships, still suits the function to hunt the sleek underwater units. Most of these sport one triple barreled cannon with a heavier caliber than Frigates, and Laser Barrel guns (think of Laser Gattlings) for heavy AA protection in short ranges. The size of the sea Destroyer also allows it to sport a Helipad, usually occupied with an Spectre specially suited for naval warfare.
Cruisers are bigger than destroyers and Frigates,and are of considerable size.
The basic cruiser is just a beefed up destroyer with two or three cannons, advanced AA missile defence,and room for a small squad of hover tanks or sea choppers. However, there are variations, like Repair Cruisers, designed to repair other ships, often unarmed with the exception of a hover tank or two, and the Storm Cruiser, wich replaces all cannons with missiles of all sorts, designed to bomb or intercept other targets.
The last of it is the Sea King. These massive Battleships are only produced by Australochinese, and provide bombardment like the twenty century ones. Their artillary shots are completely stealthy, thanks to the railgun propelled plasma charges, and often used against targets with formidable AA interception. They also sport quite a heavy AA protection, except in the zone of the massive quad-barreled cannons.

Bio:(post the past life of this character. Keep it realistic, and detail it, even if it's supposed to not be known.Most human characters are grown in vats till their birth age. After that, there's no consideration but the mint rank. Nanobots are often skilled veterans who either were killed or accepted to become one. Androids are nurtured a week after they are assembled, then after that, they are thrown to their luck)
Mint Rank:(see background for further info. This is important since it will determine the resources of the character. A and B are forbidden. And keep in mind that the higher this rank is,the better you are expected to play. If you want to have your char resources and high profile, earn it with your roleplay.)
Profession:(usually paired with the mint rank. I won't restrict this too much, but it has to be a profession that has to be of some use in these times of war.)
Gear:(everything you wear on. You don't have to declare basic clothes and your HECD (highly encoded communications device. A cellphone with video, basically)).
Addons:(androids only. This is the reference to all modifications and tunings androids can have, like a wrist laser, a multi tool in the hand, rocket boots, and that. Please, keep it not overpowered)
Augmentations:(nanobots only. This describes the further modifications in the body using nanomachines. Unlike Android addons,that can be attached and removed at desire, they are permanent, but upgradable. All nanobots start with a basic targeting augmentation(boosts accuracy), a basic muscle augmentation(strength of a martial artist), and a basic regeneration augmentation (stops age effects, regenerates slowly all organs).
Psychic Profile(human only. This is the part where you describe the psychic abilities of a human character, if they have. Take in mind that psychic users are often frail, and have extremely complicated minds.)
Prosthetic:(the old technology to enhace people. Some of these, like neural interfaces are still in use. Mechanical limb enhacements and such are obsolete.)
Accomodation/Vehicles:(like gear. By default, you have a basic house.).
