So, this forum is ending soon, right? Or by sometime in early December?

I've determined I hardly ever visit this place (outside of its always-encroaching expiration date) because the single most popular topic is on the Ground Zero "Mosque," a highly divisive topic that just spurs arguments instead of cohesion and sexy times.

So I figured, hey, how about a eulogy type of thread for the Dens? We can spam in it, declare our love for Rolk (or that TallCommando asshole), do whatever with it we'd like. Except it would be an entirely happy thread. No political banter, just remembrances of happy times and whatnot.

I mean, ****, I decided to come back here tonight because A) I'm really ****ing drunk and B) I was messaged by Dave (Morphius) on Facebook earlier today. I got really, really reminiscent of a time when I would come to the DGNF when I was overwhelmed with High School girl drama, or when I was feeling anxious over my transition from High School to College, or even drunken forays here while in college. And, more or less, most of you asshats were here for that.

So, yeah. I guess I would rather just not see that the last, largest topic in the DGNF Wayback machine is one on the ****ing Ground Zero "Mosque." Because that **** is lame.

I remember raiding the Backstreet Boys forum waaaaaaaaaaay back when. Was anyone (outside of the sexy KOes) around for that? Also, I remember the Santa Tank. Because I was the mother****ing gunner for that ****. I also remember talking to Gravis on AIM about how the East Coast calls drinking fountains "bubblers," and I judged him hardcore. Also, one time I stayed up all night talking to Vicki on AIM, which was completely ridiculous and crazy for my teenage self. I also remember the time KOes called me freshman year... ****in' 6 years ago! Bizarre. The phone sex was wonderful, though.

That's just the tip of the ice burg of memories. I remember my first thread was on "WHAT IS BETTER, DOLPHINS OR GIANT SQUID!?" and how terrified I was of the Echelon boards. Also, everyone confused me with CrazyIvaner and later ChronoIvan (the rat bastard).

Wellsirs, I'm not sure how many Halo fans we have around here these days (Wargudge, sound off!) but it's a mere two weeks until the final installment is released. I say "final installment" with a grain of salt, because this is merely the last Halo game Bungie says they will be making, though the brand will live on, no doubt.

Anyway, having played the beta and enjoyed it enormously, and having hungrily devoured every scrap of media they've dropped about the game, I'm super pumped. It just seems like everything we have loved about the last 3.5 installments of Halo rolled into one.

So how about it- anyone else excited?

If you're not yet, this kick ass live action commercial should whet your appetite

Ok, I'm running Windows 7, and I have placed the custom map folders exactly where they should go: c:\...\AppData\Roaming\Red Alert 3\Maps
The problem is, when I try to create a game in RA3, none of them show up in the list. Everything worked fine on XP, and my game is updated to 1.12. I'd love to figure this out without reinstalling the game if possible, but I've tried everything I can think of, even deleting profiles and letting the game remake them, etc.
Anyone know why RA3 would be ignoring the maps?
Thanks!

Edit: Oops, sorry guys. Didn't notice this forum is about map editing, I thought it had to do with Red Alert 3 maps in general :P

ok here is my first problem.
i want to create a text trigger which is number 11 i think and when i type what i want in the parameter box i close the box and i think im done. but when i go onto the game its says missing: and then the first word of what i wrote in the parameters box... then after a second or so a internal error occurs!

second problem,
i am trying to make a mission and at the beggining some SEALs drop from a cargo plane on a waypoint in the map, but the plane keeps getting took down by the enemies base defences so i was wondering how to get it to fly in from a different place in the map. and it keeps coming and coming over and over again.

Third problem,
i want to make it so when i build a certain building, another building will build at a certain waypoint, so i set all the events and triggers, i think the trigger was called build at waypoint or something... so i set it to build at waypoint 4 adn i put a waypoint 4 ont he map and when i go int he game it doesnt build, ive tried changing the even to any event and elapsed time. but still no improvement... it would be helpful if it could build like the psychic beacon on the 3rd soviet missiion

Fourth problem,
i want to make a mission where at the start 20 GIs will get paradropped down walk towards the enemy base and get killed, so i have put all the trigger correct, plus scripts, teams and taskforces are all in order, but my problem is that i dont want the user to be able to controll the GIs when they are their, any ideas?

Fifth problem,
The GIs in the previous problem dont walk towards the base, the script is:
move to waypoint,
unload - 2 keep units, lose transport
patrol to waypoint
but they dont move their?

final problem,
on my friends computer i have downloaded him final alert 2 and it works fine. until you close the program... when you try and open it again it says
Red alert 2 is not correctly installed (ra2.mix could not be loaded) and i assure their are no mods on my friends computer because my computer had the same problem and i deleted the mod and it worked then. but on my friends computer if i want to carry on using final alert 2 i have to reinstall the whole program
thanks in advanced :wave::color1::color1::redface::color3::gnarly::p

I have the First Decade box here in front of me so everything is original. The thing is the Zero Hour installation wont connect to the C&C servers saying it cant.

Im using no firewall or router at all. I updated TFD to version 1.02 but nothing changed. The ingame options window says my Zero Hour runs at version 1.00. Although they said that First Decade already came with fully patched games in it?

At the options window I tried all Ip adresses there were. None worked. I even went to gamespy and checked whether my account is still active - it is. But I dont even get to the "create new account window" - after clicking "multiplayer -> online" I get a brief message about the computer trying to find new updates and then the above mentioned error message appears.

Im running out of options here does anybody know a solution? I have Windows XP SP2, Firewall off.
