Lion's Weekend Blurb - Sat., Sun., Nov. 8-9

I was gonna put away politics for the weekend, but President elect Obama held his first news conference in Chicago, and put his foot in his mouth. During that news conference, Obama said he had spoken with all the living presidents as he prepares to take office in January. Then he smiled and said, "I didn't want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about doing any seances." The 87-year-old former first lady had consulted with astrologers during her husband's presidency, but she did not have conversations with the dead. Obama did realize the huge blunder he made, and later called Mrs. Reagan to apologize. WOOPS! And then there's the Sarah Palin story. Rumors have spread about the internal fighting that was going on in the McCain camp with Sarah. Things like she over-spent on her clothing allowance (Wasilla hillbillies gone wild at Neiman-Marcus), not clearing some of the speeches she prepared with McCain's staff, and once greeted John McCain and some of his staff wearing only a towel. The lady has returned to Alaska, so let's let her get on with the life she had before this crazy election, if that's possible.

Well the media was against Sarah Palin from the start, so no reason why they should stop now, even if the election is over. Once the Liberal media decides you are a threat, they go all out in an effort to discredit you and attack you with smear campaigns.

Joe the Plumer didn't ask to be public enemy #1 with the Liberal media, he asked Obama a question and Obama responded with income redistribution ideas. Obama made a major gaffe (although he believes in income destribution). The Liberal media decided Joe was now a threat and smeared him in an effort to redirect or deflect attention from Obama's major gaffe.

Likewise, Palin was a young and energetic Conservative. She jumpstarted McCain's campaign, no doubt of that. She was seen as an enemy by Liberals, because it demonstarted to American's that you could be both a Conservative Republican and a successful woman all at the same time. This was a severe threat to the radical left wing feminists who want to create the notion that women have to support the Democrats to get ahead in life and that Republicans don't care about Women's rights. Just look at all the time MSNBC and The New York Times spent on negative attack ads.

This was similar to what the Liberal left did to Justice Thomas when he was nominated for the Supreme Court. The left wingers didn't like the idea of a successful African American being a Republican or Conservative, so they attacked him and tried to take him down. They have done the same things with people like Juan Williams and Thomas Sowell. Liberals want women and minorities to get ahead, but only if they support the Liberal agenda.

America is still a center right country. Obama campaigned as a centrist to get elected, and will have to act as a centrist as President, otherise he will be voted out in 2012. American's don't want the left wing agenda, they voted for Obama because he ran a centrist and because they wanted to send a message ot the Republicans to get back on track and stop straying from the fundamentals of Goldwater/ Reagan Conservatism.

Bill Clinton got elected as a centrist in 1992, then his party started advocating the left wing Liberal agenda and quickly got voted out. Republicans gained control of congress (House and Senate) in 1994 for the first time in decades because people didn't want the left wing agenda. From 1932- 1994, Republicans were always in the minority in congress. They had the Senate at times, but were always the minority party in the House. Only briefly during Eisenhower's presiency did they control both the House and Senate. Like 58 of the 62 years they never had a majority in the House. Even when Reagan won in a landslide he had to work with a Democratic congress.
